Our well-appointed and beautifully decorated Cottage, newly renovated last year, offers stunning long distance countryside views and quiet peaceful surroundings. Unwind in the modern open plan living space, with tranquil green and blue soft furnishings reflecting the landscape, whilst listening to the birds. With easy access to four stunning beaches and local amenities, it’s perfect for couples, families and friends looking to unwind and relax. A village shop and two good pubs are a 15 min walk. The space North Buckland is a picturesque hamlet nestled within a tranquil valley set in the middle of The North Devon National Landscape/Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Having undergone a full refurbishment – The Dairy is a well-appointed, spacious and stylishly furnished cottage. The light-filled open plan living space makes a comfortable welcoming retreat for guests to relax and unwind and to enjoy meals together in the dining area. One of our guests said it was like an “oasis to return here each day - so quiet and peaceful with the birds and butterflies for company.” On arrival you will enter via French doors directly in to the open-plan living space, complete with an attractive fireplace, contemporary well-equipped kitchen and dining area. Enjoy cosy evenings in the restful lounge area after a day spent exploring the coast and countryside. (Please note there is now an electric flame effect dimplex fire in the lounge area). Watch a good movie or enjoy a glass of wine in this lovely space. From here, stairs lead up to the first floor where you will find two bright and airy bedrooms; one with a King-size bed with Hypnos mattress and the other with two single beds which can be converted into a King-size bed upon request. There is space for a cot (available on request) should you be travelling with an infant. A family shower room and a handy separate cloakroom completes the accommodation in this attractive cottage. Outside the French doors, the south facing garden makes a lovely relaxing space for morning coffee and to sit back and enjoy the idyllic views or to enjoy some quiet time to read your favourite book. Free private parking is available. Enjoy a lovely Welcome Hamper on arrival which includes scones, jam, clotted cream, milk, coffee, tea and sugar. Art Gallery and Studio You are warmly invited to visit Sue’s ceramics gallery and studio while you are here. There are plenty of beautiful artworks to see and choose from. A lovely reminder of your stay in North Devon. The gallery and studio are located at the top of the garden. Our excellent location offers very peaceful surroundings and provides a great base for exploring the stunning North Devon coastline and numerous exceptional beaches nearby including Putsborough World Surf Reserve, Croyde Bay and Woolacombe Beaches - all 10 minutes’ drive and Saunton Sands - 20 minutes’ drive. You will be spoilt for choice for days out and things to do with The South West Coast Path, Exmoor, visitor attractions, local shops, restaurants, amenities and much more within easy reach. Guests have enjoyed: “Swimming and body boarding at Putsborough Beach, followed by hot chocolate overlooking the beach at The Porthole Café.” (10 min walk from Putsborough car park) “A beautiful walk with views of ravens, a kestrel and seals followed by a great Sunday carvery at the Ship Aground.” (Mortehoe) “A walk round Baggy Point in the morning, lunch at the National Trust café, then down to Croyde beach in the afternoon.” “Sitting on the front doorsteps in the sunshine having a coffee, watching and listening to the wildlife - the red admiral on the buddleia, 12 house martins and a cuckoo.” “Sunday roast at The Kings Arms, in Georgeham then exploring the tunnels and beaches in Ilfracombe.” “Fish and chips from Braunton and rock pooling and body boarding at Croyde.” Recommended days out further afield include; a trip to popular Ilfracombe with its harbour and seaside attractions, or a memorable drive to The Valley of the Rocks and on to Lynton and Lymouth for some tasty fish and chips. With Exmoor National Park less than twenty minutes away, a stay at The Dairy will see you perfectly located for coast, country and moorland, and a very memorable break can be had by all. Guest access The Dairy is self-contained and has its own private front entrance and lock box. It adjoins the main farmhouse on one side and Old Granary Cottage on the other. Guests have sole use of the lovely south facing front garden which offers beautiful views of the rolling Devonshire countryside. Shared access is available to the guest laundry - with washing machine and tumble dryer. This is situated behind the main farmhouse. Free private parking is available for one car. A second parking space is available on request. Quaint nearby Georgeham village (1 mile) is within walking distance with Georgeham Village Store and Post Office and two good foodie pubs The Rock Inn and The Kings Arms, both serving excellent food. Croyde (2.7 miles) is known for its world-class surf, beautiful sandy beach, stunning scenery and charming appeal with a very popular ice cream shop, trendy surf shops and family friendly pubs. Award-winning Putsborough Beach (2.8 miles) is about ten minutes’ drive, and has glorious golden sands which continue along for more than two miles to popular Woolacombe Beach further along the bay. The beaches of Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde offer great surfing opportunities, and the water and sand quality is exceptional. There are numerous opportunities for exhilarating coastal walks, with bays and coves to discover, or why not enjoy the outstanding countryside that sits just outside the door.
