Easy walking distance of 1 mile to Chester racecourse & train station. The space No 30 is located in a 150 year old residential street, in a historic leafy village suburb, just 500 metres walk from Chester city centre. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A CHARACTER VICTORIAN PROPERTY WHICH HAS ITS ORIGINAL STEEP STAIRS! SO THIS MAY BE UNSUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN/ELDERLY GUESTS! Offering a blend of cottage charm with contemporary living, this Victorian home has two well-proportioned bedrooms, a cosy well appointed living space, modern downstairs bathroom and a light-filled contemporary kitchen diner. With front and rear courtyard gardens, you can also enjoy private outside dining or relaxing, in this peaceful backwater location. The street is located just a 300 metre walk from the River Dee, where you can enjoy a leisurely riverside walk along the beautiful meadows & the groves… or head out into the Cheshire countryside. The house also benefits from free, unlimited on-street parking … and has a range of excellent pubs, take-aways and local shops all within 100-250 metres walk from the property. A short walk over the Old Dee Bridge takes you either along the groves, where there is a range of riverside bars, restaurants and cafes - or a gentle uphill stroll into the city centre, which offers a huge range of bars, restaurants, shopping experiences and fascinating places to explore. Enjoy the historic architecture, ranging from the Roman amphitheatre & surrounding Roman city walls (which provide a wonderful elevated 2 mile circular walk to take in views of the city & the surrounding Welsh hills!), to the varied 12th-18th century streets, incorporating the unique two-storey ‘Chester Rows’, the award-winning Grosvenor Museum, Grosvenor park, and the stunning Chester Cathedral & gardens. You can also take advantage of the house’s easy 700 metre walking distance to Chester’s new modern quarter; the Storyhouse theatre/cinema/library development and the new Chester Market & food hall, where you’ll be spoilt for choice! No 30’s location is also ideal for visiting Chester racecourse, at just over a miles easy walk through the historic streets. A similar distance in the opposite direction will get you to Chester train station - where you can travel by rail, every 30-60 minutes, to Liverpool and Manchester. We can accept bookings of 2 nights or more, to suit you. No 30 is ideal for 2-3 people, using the double/single rooms upstairs. There is a double articulated sofa bed in the living area which can provide comfortable additional sleeping space for a further 1-2. However, as the sofa bed is in the main living space & there is only one bathroom in the property, we do not encourage bookings for more than 4 visitors! The house comes fully equipped with wi-fi, a smart HD tv (prime, Netflix etc), a surround sound Bluetooth speaker system and a Blu-ray player with an assortment of films, books & games. All rooms have smart plugs and USB charging stations, and the single bedroom also has a light & airy designated workspace should you wish to work from home. The property maintains some of its original 150 year old features… most notably the staircase! Which would not be suitable for very young children or anyone with mobility issues. As all of the facilities are based on the ground floor level, the option of using the sofa bed does offer suitable accommodation for anyone who can’t manage the stairs. This versatile accommodation offers a range of options, ideal for anyone trying to find cost-effective overnight stays close to Chester city centre, without pricey single-person supplements, ground floor bedroom access etc. The fully equipped contemporary kitchen diner provides everything you need to self-cater, should you wish, during your stay. Guest access You have full use of the whole house & rear courtyard garden. We have provided everything you could require to ensure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Street parking outside is free and unlimited. Best times to grab a parking space are usually between 08:00-10:00 and 17:30 onwards, due to the street’s proximity to the city centre! Other things to note A full set of garden furniture is accessible in the courtyard garden’s outside storage. We have a washing machine, retractable washing line/pegs, iron & ironing board all available on the premises. Ideal if you’re attending Chester Races or a local wedding! We have a HD smart tv, together with surround sound & Bluetooth speaker system … a Blu-ray player, and an assortment of DVDs & Blu-rays at the house. There is room in the tv for additional HDMI input. We provide a dolce gusto coffee machine, with a generous ‘starter-pack’ of assorted pods for your use. There is a visitors information pack at the house, together with lots of reference material, pamphlets etc to help you to plan your stay - whether you’re staying local or exploring a little further afield!
