Centrally located, it is great base of operations that affords easy access to all of the other great neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, including Palermo, Plaza San Martin, Las Canitas, San Telmo, and Puerto Madero. The main train station and ferry terminal are both relatively close (20 minutes by foot), and Newberry Airport for domestic flights is also close at hand (a short taxi ride). The high ceilings and beautiful hardwood floors give the apartment a spacious feel, while the solid stone walls provide seclusion and sanctuary (super light sleepers please note that some street noise filters through the bedroom windows). The vintage styling of the Otis elevator make every entrance and exit a throwback to a different era. It is located on the 3rd floor (equivalent to the 4th floor in the US, since there is also the "ground floor" in the lobby). Entertain newfound friends in the living room and dining room... or just walk out your door to wander the sidewalks of Recoleta and beyond. The wireless internet connection is very fast - 6+ Mbps. I once had a group of IT professionals rent the apartment while attending a conference, and they had no connectivity issues at all, even with all of them working simultaneously. I recently added a wall-mounted 32" flat-screen TV in the TV room, and an Apple TV device is available upon advance request. The two bedrooms are set up with two different configurations: 1) A "Master" Bedroom with a King size bed - perfect for a couple or for the solo traveler who likes to spread out in comfort. There is a ceiling fan that can be used during warmer months. 2) The second bedroom has two twin beds that can be used separately (great for kids or for folks who don't mind sharing a room) or can be pushed together to create a larger bed for a couple, etc. However, the pushed together mode will still have a crease between the two mattresses, so please keep this mind. There is also a ceiling fan in this room for use during warmer months. The kitchen and dining room make it easy to enjoy home-cooked meals (and a nice bottle of Malbec!) on those nights when you want to stay in. And for folks staying longer periods, or passing through as part of longer journeys, there is a washer (but no dryer!) located in the building for the exclusive use of guests at this apartment.
