Description
Villa Salak is two listings spilt between the bungalows top and ground levels. Crafted with love by our local builders, it's bursting with charm and coziness, perfect for a relaxing getaway. This is upstairs only. Located only a few steps away from the beach, your “new home” will give you direct access to Medewi’s main surf break. This room can be set up with 2 twin beds or 1 double. Breakfast, seafood bbq dinner, surf lessons and guided tours can be organized upon request. The space Batu Kayu was carefully designed to provide our guests with relaxation and comfort. The four villas on our property were built by our neighboring local builders using mostly bamboo and other building materials whilst trying our best to keep sustainability in mind. Our team is made of local people. They are our neighbors, our friends and our family. We hope you will enjoy your time spent at our little homes. Guest access Our bungalows are situated right at the beach front, allowing our guests to have easy access to to Medewi’s main surf break and to experience the local atmosphere. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. The colorful fishing boats are parked right on our beach front and there is always a buzz with fishermen going out to sea for their daily catch. Guests have full access to our gardens, including outdoor dinning table and bbq area. Outdoor showers and surfboard racks are available for all our guests. During your stay Our property manager is available on site during most days from 8am until 4pm. He can be found around the garden or at our workshop at the back of the property. He is also reachable by phone during any time of the day. Other things to note The neighborhood in Medewi is mostly Muslim and that requires that our guests become aware of the calls for prayer that happens 5 times per day, including the first at around 5am (great timing for that morning surf). The tropical gardens around the property host a increasing variety of fruits and tropical plants grown organically. This means that there is also many birds, bees and other cute insects around. Most of them stay way out of our bungalows but occasionally our guest might find a small bug or two venturing inside the room. Please note that we are often doing some construction work happening during the daytime on the property. The construction work is only happening in between 9am and 5pm and it’s done mostly with hand tools to keep the noise levels as low as possible, but at times will be a little noisy. The four craftsmen working for us have been doing so since we started our project. They are currently building our fifth bungalow. These local men are our neighbors and we consider them a part of our Medewi “family”. They are all very nice, friendly and respectful. Watching them hand craft our bamboo bungalows can be quite a positive experience and we hope it won’t stop you from booking your stay at Batu Kayu.
