BenteBu i Trollheimen

Recharge your batteries in this small cabin in quiet surroundings at the gateway to Trollheimen. The cabin is located in a small cabin area in Langlimarka in Rindal, where there are 6 cabins spread over 1 km. The cabin is located in nice hiking terrain for mountain hikes in summer and skiing in winter. In summer it is about 20 minutes to walk from the summer parking. In winter, only parts of the forest road are groomed, then it is a 2.5 km ski tour up to the cabin. Snowmobile transport of goods can be arranged. The space BenteBu is a small mountain cabin from Rindalshytter in the Påskekos model in timber frame built in 1998. It is without electricity and running water, and has an outhouse in the woodshed. The cabin consists of a living room and kitchen plus one bedroom with a double bed. There is a private exit to a large terrace overlooking Tørsetmarka and Trollheimen. Other things to note The cabin is heated with wood burning, there is a fireplace that keeps the whole cabin warm. Extra firewood is collected in the woodshed, there is also the biological toilet. There is some water available for cooking and it is possible to fetch extra water in the spring near the cabin. Bringing drinking water is recommended. Gas stove and sink in the kitchen. Bed linen and towels are included. There is a solar panel for charging mobile phones, but be aware that there are few hours of sunshine in the darkest time of the winter. To get to the parking lot by car, you have to pay a toll in the summer. The toll road is a forest road with some steep hills and partially uneven gravel surface. The forest road is not cleared in winter. In winter, the road up to BenteBu varies greatly depending on how much snow there is, so it is necessary to have cross-country skis or snowshoes to be sure to get there. It is possible to borrow this for free at Rindal Volunteer Center. BenteBu is 3.7 km from the nearest bus stop and 5 km from the nearest grocery store. A hot shower can be purchased in Rindalshuset, where there is also a swimming pool in winter. The cabin is located near Trondhjem's Tourist Association's marked route between Saga Ski Station and Trollheimshytta. We recommend waterproof shoes as the last part of the trail up to BenteBu (and the trail further up to the mountain) consists of marshes that are often quite wet.
