Description
Perfect for a weekend getaway, staycation, or night out in town — this cozy retreat is designed for rest and comfort. Sleep soundly on a queen bed with Hilton Hotel linens and an allergy-protected mattress. Enjoy blackout blinds for uninterrupted sleep, plus overhead, standing, and bedside lighting to set the mood. A roomy closet, dresser with mirror, and extra chair make it easy to settle in. A temperature and humidity gauge helps you stay comfortable throughout your stay. The space This is a vintage home with its own unique character, located in the heart of town. You’ll be within safe walking distance of shops, restaurants, and bars, with quick Uber access to even more local favorites. The town is mostly peaceful, though weekends sometimes bring a bit of quirky small-town flavor — like the occasional hot rod passing through at midday — adding to the charm. You’re welcome to enjoy the backyard patio with a glass of wine under the stars, or take a safe stroll along the cobblestone streets on Mississippi Ave. Guest access Guests have access to the shared kitchen, dining room, living room, and common spaces throughout the home. The back patio with tables and chairs and the front porch with a bench are also available for relaxing. Recreational items such as yoga mats are welcome to be used during your stay. Please note: this is a co-op style home with multiple guests and the homeowners sharing spaces. Everyone is asked to be mindful and clean up after themselves. Short-term guests are welcome to use the kitchen for meals, but food items (such as coffee, eggs, or pantry staples) are not supplied. Long-term guests are expected to provide their own toiletries and personal items. Two bathrooms are generally open for shared use; please respect any bathroom that has been designated for another guest During your stay This is a shared home environment, similar to a co-living space, where respect and mindfulness go a long way. Guests may cross paths with other short-term or long-term visitors as well as the homeowners. Interactions are kept casual and respectful — you’ll always have privacy in your own room but can also enjoy conversation or community in the shared spaces. I’m available for recommendations or assistance as needed and happy to match your preferred level of interaction. Other things to note As with many older homes, you may notice a few quirks — creaky floors, a unique layout, and the character that comes with age. These details are part of the charm and story of the house. My style is rooted in creating a space that feels both cozy and welcoming, where shared areas are respected and enjoyed by all. I am a mother of four with four grandkids, and kids are present throughout the week, including my teenage son who lives here full-time. My children are respectful, and past travelers have enjoyed meeting them. Respect is a core value in this home, and aside from one noted review, all guests have shared positive experiences. My son and I love meeting travelers, and my dream is to keep this home as a safe harbor for others like myself — a place to rest, connect, and feel at ease on the journey.
