Description

The cabin is partially renovated in 2022 with new kitchen, bathroom and toilet room. Description of the rooms: Outer hallway: spacious, plenty of space for shoes and outerwear. Shoe wipers. Toilet room Bedroom 1: small bedroom with bunk bed Bedroom 2: bedroom with pull-out double bed and bunk bed. There is a short distance between the bunks, so this is probably best suited for children. Bathroom: with shower enclosure Living room: Spacious and well-equipped kitchen. Dishwasher. Dining area. Wood stove. Living room with sofas and TV. Bedroom 3: Room with double bed The space The cabin is beautifully located in an older cabin area on Gålå, and overlooks both Jotunheimen to the west and Rondane to the north. The cabin has two terraces; one to the east with morning sun, and one to the west with afternoon and evening sun. The property itself consists of a cabin, an annex/storeroom and an outdoor shed with a wood-fired sauna. There is a short distance to hiking trails towards Tårnet, Svintjern, Skarvan and Blankputten. Winter in Gålå is a dream! It is usually snow-proof from November until well into April. In winter you can ski on the road all the way to perfectly prepared ski slopes that stretch across the entire Gålå. It is a slightly hilly terrain with many different ski trails. The terrain is suitable for beginners, fitness enthusiasts and the most eager skiers. At Gålåvann there is a small alpine facility. In summer it is possible to find delicious blueberries in the heather around the cabin. In addition, you can go on many nice short trips in the area between the cabin and Skjerheillkampen. It is also great to hike up to the top of Valsfjell and further into the mountain. Feforkampen, with its characteristic three peaks, is an easily accessible hiking destination for both young and old (who do not have a fear of heights). Guest access Guests can use the cabin itself, the sauna in the shed and the freezer. The storage shed is kept locked. It is allowed to use dry goods and spices, but it would be great if we are notified if something is used up. Food and beverages in the basement storage room are not allowed to be used. Other things to note Guests must bring bed linen/towels. At check-out, guests must vacuum the rooms and empty all garbage. We ask that you sort between cardboard, residual waste, glass/metal and deposit. There is a sorting system at the garbage site at the ramp to Gålåvann. Instructions for opening and closing the water supply are provided. We have a habit of shutting off the water after each stay. Of course, you are allowed to borrow games, books and toys. We expect you to clean up nicely after your use. We prefer to rent on a weekly basis, but can of course discuss this if needed.
