The Crocodile Bank is close by as is Dakshina Chitra, a Heritage Site which takes a fascinating look at the cultural heritage of South India. Mamallapuram , known for its famous Pallava Shore Temple and shopping, is a 20 minute drive away. Further down the coast – a day’s excursion – is Pondicherry (Pudhucherry) which still retains its French colonial past with its villas, chic boutiques and restaurants.
