Two town beaches -- Crab Meadow and Asharoken -- are a short drive away. Resident permit or day pass fee required. Beach chairs, towels and a small cooler are in the bedroom closet. NYC (Penn Station/Grand Central Madison) is about an hour by train via the LIRR Northport (10 minute drive) and Huntington (20 minute drive) stations. Huntington has more frequent, direct trains. Check the MTA TrainTime app for info. Crab Meadow Golf Course, Northport Golf Course and Sunken Meadow State Park, which includes Alfred E Smith Golf Course, are nearby. The shopping, dining and entertainment of Northport Village is just a short drive into town (or a beautiful 40 minute walk if you're ambitious!). Huntington Village, with its many shops and restaurants, is 20 minutes away. South shore beaches are a 40 minute drive and North Fork attractions are 60-90 minutes away... perfect for a day trip!
