The Nest a boutique retreat 3 miles from Ennerdale

The Nest by Blake View holidays, is a new property converted from old stables. The Nest is so called because of it's cosy "nest like" space, ideal for two and an ode to the numerous birds you will see and hear during your stay. The Nest has a king size zip and link bed, an extra large shower and a cosy living/dining area with full kitchen to relax after a day in the fells. There is an enclosed, private patio area, and shared use of a south facing paddock. Book with our other lets for more guests The space The Nest is a self contained holiday Let converted from a stable block in April 2024. It has access to a large south facing paddock and two private patio areas. There is ample, secure parking directly outside and the property is situated within 4 acres of land. Inside the property there is a kitchen and living room/dining area with patio doors which open onto the paddock, with views of the Lamplugh fells to the east. The kitchen is well equipped and has a double ceramic hob, oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and kettle with tea/coffee/some essentials provided. The bedroom has a King size bed which can be converted into two small singles (zip and link) and plenty of hanging space and drawers for storage of clothes. The bedroom also looks onto the paddock. The en-suite bathroom has a large, modern shower with heated towel rail. The property is a 5 minute walk to the popular Ennerdale Brewery which makes local ales and serves delicious food and there is a local supermarket, Boots chemist, bakery and take away situated in Frizington which is 1.5 miles away. The coast to coast route runs alongside the property and if you are cycling in the area, we have secure cycle storage. Ennerdale is within walking distance and Ennerdale bridge has 2 pubs which serve food and a lovely community owned cafe called the Gather. Cockermouth, Whitehaven and Workington are all a 10/15 minute drive away. You will see lots of local wildlife from the Nest, especially our resident red squirrels who use the wall at the back of the property as their highway. We also have pheasants, rabbits, frogs and the occasional deer along with owls and bats at night. We also have our 9 silkie chickens and 2 baby ducks free ranging on part of the land. Guest access Guests have access to a large driveway with plenty of parking and a large paddock area at the rear of the property. There is also a private patio at the side of the Nest for sole use of the guests staying there and a patio area to the rear of the nest overlooking the paddock.
