Our property runs about 17 acres and merges with public land so the expansive views seem endless. Meander through the wooded area to the enchanting meadow, taking in the deep chimes scattered amongst the pines and aspens. Savor a healing soak in the private two-person hot tub. Cuddle on the loveseat swing-bench with a panoramic view of the Collegiate Peaks & Mosquito Range. Walk the private river stone meditation labyrinth and set your intentions. Retreat to the beautiful sunroom. Stretch on the ballet barre or chill out with a good book or a sketchpad. Enjoy your meals in the cabin dining nook or at one of the tables on the covered decks. Then escape for a snooze on the two-person hammock. Kitchen & Groceries * Included you will find coffee and tea as well as some non-perishable supplies you may help yourself to * Enjoy our minimalist kitchen with induction burner and a good assortment of pots and pans * The cabin is now run off a well, the water is filtered but you may consider bringing bottled water for drinking during your stay. * In addition to a fridge with freezer, appliances include microwave and toaster oven *Brita filter in fridge for water purification * Gas grill for easy cooking outdoors * Hartsel is about 8 minutes away and has a small mercantile grocery store, cafe, bar, great pizza and gas station, plus a few charming little shops for wandering * Nearest full-scale grocery store is in Fairplay, about 30 minutes away Recreation & Fishing * Located in Hartsel Springs Ranch, with herds of buffalo and antelope often in sight * Gold-medal fishing at nearby Antero Reservoir, Spinney Mountain Reservoir, and The Dream Stream * Enjoy hiking trails located all around the South Park region * Fairplay, home of historic South Park City, is approx 30 minutes away * Buena Vista is approx 40 minutes away * Woodland Park is approx 50 minutes away * Breckenridge is approx 60 minutes away Nature, Weather & Travel Recommendations * Our cabin is remote. Most of the time a 2wd is just fine, but during the winter/spring months, a vehicle that can navigate mud, deep snow, ice and drifting snow is a must. A 4x4 is highly recommended. Please plan accordingly as we do not offer refunds due to road conditions and car choice. In winter months, parking due to snow may require a short walk to the cabin. * Storm/road conditions may delay arrivals or departures - please plan accordingly. * Close-toed shoes are ideal for this high-mountain scrub landscape. * We are located just shy of 10,000 feet so please drink plenty of water to avoid altitude sickness. * We have some small cactus around the property but it doesn’t seem to bother most dogs (or maybe they are just good at avoiding it). * Be prepared with lots of clothing layers so you can adapt to changing conditions. Mountain storms come and go quickly. * Sometimes the wind kicks up to remind us of all the things we cannot control, but it usually settles down again within a few hours. * Wildlife is somewhat rare but has been known to wander through, so please do not leave food outside at night. Guest access Guests have access to our entire property which is outlined in our cabin manual. Please respect neighboring landowners and do not enter private property. Other things to note This is our family’s home, if you don’t foresee being able to keep the place tidy during your stay or follow the cabin rules, please consider another booking. 5-star reviews are very important to us and allow us to keep our space open to guest.
