Enter the old west. The homestead sets in the middle of 60 acres, and feels like a century ago on the plains. Except plains with the sea one field away, and the San Juan islands in view. The surrounding fields are some of the most productive on the coast, which connects to why this isolated farm is next level for birding. Hike the rocky shore, meadows and forests of Deception Falls or Chuckanut. Foodies, bikers- the Skagit is all about eateries in farm country, and Edison is ground zero. The space Three bedrooms on second floor. One with queen bed, One with queen and single, and one with two doubles and a bunkbed. Main floor has a one bedroom with single bed as well as a family room with double fold out couch sleeper. Each floor has one full bath. Pool table and large antique desk for writing or remote work inside, ping pong table in open ceiling garage off back door. Small wooded area and seasonal wetland just north of farm house offer even more opportunity for bird watching, sunrise lighting Mount Baker. The farmhouse was once the center of a 500 acre operation, with a bunkhouse for farm workers just past where the ping pong table is now. The original one room school house and dairy barn and granary built in the 1800s can be entered at own risk, but hayloft and final two barns to east cannot. Speaking of old, the kitchen has no dishwasher. Washer and dryer are just off kitchen. Electric car charger in driveway. Guest access To the east of the house are an old pumphouse, an equipment shed, a tractor barn, a horse barn, a one room school house, and a huge dairy barn built in the 1800s. All outbuildings are old and should not be entered without care. Hayloft and final two barns far from house are off limits for safety reasons. Please no dogs or people are to enter growing cropland or pasture with cattle. Other things to note Please be aware this is working farm country, with sounds of tractors in late spring and fall. Please do not enter nearby pasture with cattle or allow kids unattended in barns.
