Our lodge (21sqm) is a very cozy, truly affordable hideaway for vacationers who wish to experience the authentic Mexico without a lot of tourists crowing on the beach! Want to chill in the hammock? Please note our newly built lodge is attached to the Hacienda Antigua. The space Welcome to El Cuyo! All our apartments are very well maintained and clean, and that is what counts! This is a single-room apartment with a mosquito-protected terrace. Clean toilet / shower, cooking facilities, fridge, fresh linen + towels. El Cuyo is a charming fishing village that can be considered a hidden treasure on the Yucatan coast. Here you can enjoy the tranquility of life by the sea; take a walk on the beach, watch the beautiful sunsets or sit down and read a good book. But not enough! You can also try kite surfing, rowing, kayaking, or even fishing. This quiet and charming town on the northeast coast of the Yucatan Peninsula is located in the Ría Lagartos National Park, where sea turtles live. Every summer, between June and August, the turtles visit the coast to lay their eggs in the warm sand. Guest access Guests have access to a small terrace that comes with a table & lounge chairs; they also have a garden for private use. Inside the lodge there are 2 comfortable double beds, a little kitchenette, a small dining table, and one bathroom with shower and toilet. Every year in summer, between the months of June and August, turtles come visiting the sea shore to lay their eggs in the warm sand. With more than 250 species of birds, Río Lagartos is internationally well known for bird watching. When you arrive in El Cuyo, you will cross a lagoon that is of red color due to a high concentration of salt. 20,000 pink colored flamingos are having their home here between the months of March to September - quite impressive ! Remember this is an Airbnb and not a Hotel so some things may vary. Early check in and/or late checkout requests: Early check ins and check outs are dependent on availability. There is no charge from us, but a 15 Euro/Usd donation to an official Gofundme Fundraiser we organized. Please send all request for early check ins or late check outs to the host and co-host only, at least 24 hours prior to arrival. House/apartment guest policy and house rules: 1. Please make sure to obtain a travel, health and accident insurance. 2. Please report to us any damage in house that may arise and we will try to solve it. 3. We do not allow parties or loud music at late hours. We want everyone to have a relaxed atmosphere during their vacation! 4. Please do not leave garbage or food outside to avoid attracting small critters and at the same time protect the animals in the area. Please take the garbage outside to the trash bin and please avoid leaving flames or candles burning 5. Avoid extra guests (overnight). 6. Please make sure to lock your car and to activate the alarms. El Cuyo is generally a safe place but you can never let your guard down. We are not to be held responsible for theft or damage to your vehicle or your belongings while staying at our property. Please 7. Please not use the toilet as a garbage can and clean your feet of sand outside the house so we avoid clogging the pipes and the drain in showers and toilets. 8. Please take care of the items inside the house. If something breaks we will deduct it from the deposit at the end of the stay. 9. Cleaning with change of sheets included every 7 days, change of towels every 3 days included. 10. Upon check-in, you should find a bottle of water, soap, toilet paper roll, axiom, sponge. 11. The caretakers are Magaly and Yara and they are available from 9 am to 4 pm in case you need help with anything. Please treat her with respect. Her number will be sent days before your arrival. 12. Please check that they have the WIFI code, towels, that the boiler is on and that everything is clean and in order in the house. 13. We do not accept pets at Hacienda del Cuyo (beach house). We do accept pets at Hacienda Antigua ($ 50Usd deposit) 14. Before your departure please leave dirty towels on the floor and do not leave dirty dishes.
