This lovingly restored stone cottage, with its barn, pool and extensive gardens are completely immersed in the most beautiful countryside that is yours to explore. In total seclusion, you are free to peacefully enjoy the breathtaking views across the valley; read a book by the cozy woodburning stove; or splash in the totally private, heated, salt water swimming pool. The table football and ping pong in the huge barn help to make Le Puy Manié is the perfect holiday destination all year round. The space Accommodation Le Puy Manié accommodates 8 guests in comfort. The spacious attic room and master bedroom both feature double beds and a further bedroom with bunk beds provide flexible sleeping arrangements. An additional mezzanine with a double sofa bed offers extra bedroom space, though it's not recommended for the elderly or small children due to its ladder access. The fully equipped kitchen has both a wood-burning Rayburn stove (which provides the heating) and an electric cooker, with a large wooden table that seats eight for family meals. The cottage has two bathrooms: an upstairs bathroom with a classic iron roll-top bath, and the ground-floor wet room with rain shower and stone basin. The salon is designed for relaxation, with large south-facing windows offering stunning views and comfortable seating for 8. A record player and a selection of discs and a Blu Ray & DVD player with projector and screen with a collection of DVDs are there for your entertainment but you can also plug in your own devices. Outdoor Spaces and Activities Enjoy the beauty of nature across 2.5 hectares of land, including walnut groves, grass fields, and a wild wooded area. Le Puy Manié has three distinct outdoor dining areas: a breakfast terrace with a table and chairs, a sunset terrace with ample seating for larger groups, and the pool terrace for casual meals by the pool. The heated saltwater pool, open from May to September , measures 6m x 11m and is surrounded by a terrace with teak sun loungers and parasols. For added fun, the rustic barn houses a games room with table tennis table and table football. Guest access A key opens all exterior doors to the house front and back. You have the entire house and gardens all to yourself. The house is accessed by a private driveway and there are no close neighbours. Other things to note There are radiators in all rooms except the salon which are fed by the wood fired Rayburn. The salon has a separate small wood burning stove. There is an electric radiator too. If relaxing by the pool isn't adventurous enough for you there are many local attractions and day trips to consider. The nearby village of St. Robert, one of France's most beautiful villages, is a 2km walk, cycle, or drive away, offering a 12th-century church, bistro, épicerie, restaurant and boulangerie. There are many walks through the pretty countryside starting in the village and from the house itself. Nearby we have the famous Château de Hautfort et Jardin and the Château de Pompadour et Hippodrome de Pompadour for a gample on the horses and a charming day out. There are local farm markets in Objat, Brive, and Terreson full of fresh produce and stalls. Brive-La-Gaillarde has an attractive old stone city centre around the church with pedestrian only cobbled streets full of shops, restaurants and cafes and museums. Just 35 mins drive away is the world famous Lascaux caves with new visitor centre and guided tours. Other less known, but equally interesting and impressive caves surround us and offer tours - worth some research if you’re interested. Take a picnic and canoe or Kayak under overhanging Chateaux on the Vézère or Dordogne rivers. A day trip away is Salat-la-Canéda and the Château de Milanese home of Josephine Baker, open to the public. Or visit Perigeux, known for the landmark Saint-Front Cathedral, with it's domes and turrets. The Vesunna Gallo-Roman Museum contains an excavated Roman house with the remains of baths and murals and beside it the Tour de Vesoné, part of a ruined Gallo-Roman temple. The Périgord Museum of Art and Archaeology has ancient artifacts, African sculptures and modern paintings For those interested in gardens, Les Jardins de Collette and Les Jardins de l'Imaginaire are well worth a visit and often have special events on. The local Arboretum de la Tuillière has a large garden with 900 specimens from around the world. A little further are the spectacular Jardins de Marqueyssac on a cliff top overlooking the river Dordogne. But if you just want to relax by the pool or on the terrace, Le Puy Manié is the perfect escape for those seeking calm surrounded by nature. Please note: The pool is closed from September until May.
