The space Before You Book – Please Read Thank you for your interest in our apartment! We are excited to welcome guests who are looking for a comfortable stay in Aruba and want to experience the island’s relaxed lifestyle. Before you complete your booking, we would like to provide you with some important information to make sure our place meets your expectations. Aruba is a beautiful island with a warm, sunny climate year-round. In some months, especially during the summer, the temperatures can get quite hot. Our apartment has air conditioning in the bedroom, which provides a cool and restful space for sleeping. However, the living room and kitchen do not have air conditioning. Instead, we encourage you to enjoy Aruba’s natural ventilation. The apartment features a fully screened porch, allowing you to sit outside and enjoy the breeze without worrying about mosquitoes or insects. It’s a great space to relax, read, or enjoy a meal outdoors. Additionally, it’s important to know that our apartment does not have a hot water system. This is very common in Aruba, where the warm climate naturally heats the water in the pipes. The tap water is lukewarm to mildly cool, and most guests find it quite refreshing—especially after a warm day exploring the island or spending time at the beach. If you are used to having very hot showers, this might be different from what you’re used to, but it’s part of the everyday lifestyle in many Aruban homes. We want to be honest and transparent about what our apartment offers so that you can make the best decision for your vacation. If you are looking for full air conditioning throughout the apartment or need hot water daily, our space may not be the right fit—and that’s okay. But if you’re comfortable with a more natural, breezy, and locally authentic experience, we think you’ll truly enjoy staying with us. Other things to note Ozzy is a musician, and from time to time there may be band rehearsals at the property. The music usually includes 80s and 90s rock, Latin, and reggae. Guests are welcome to enjoy the live music if they wish! Car Rental Recommended While many nearby spots are walkable, we highly recommend renting a car to fully explore Aruba’s natural beauty and cultural attractions. From Arikok National Park and the California Lighthouse to hidden beaches and charming local areas, having your own vehicle gives you the freedom to experience the island at your own pace. We can arrange a rental car for you at a rate between $35 and $45 per day, including insurance and tax. No deposit is required, making it an easy and stress-free option. Let us know in advance if you're interested—we'll have it ready for you upon arrival! Nearby Amenities The location also places guests close to essential conveniences. Super Do It Center and Save More Food Center are both within walking distance and provide groceries and everyday essentials. Additionally, local favorites like Fermin’s Bar, known for its casual local vibe, and Lili’s Empanadas, famous for delicious handmade empanadas and home-style meals, are easily accessible for a quick bite or relaxing meal. Close to Aruba’s Best Beaches Just a short distance from Isla GetAway, guests will find several of Aruba’s most renowned beaches. Eagle Beach is only 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) away, roughly a 30-minute walk or a 5-minute drive. Known for its soft white sand, gentle surf, and iconic Divi Divi trees, it is consistently rated as one of the top beaches in the world. Palm Beach, located about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) away, is just a 35–40-minute walk or a 6-minute drive. This beach is a hub of activity, lined with high-rise resorts, beach bars, restaurants, and a wide range of water sports. Both beaches offer ample parking for visitors who drive. Easy Access to Transportation For those preferring public transportation, a bus stop is conveniently located in front of the nearby Super Do It Center, about 1.5 kilometers from the apartment (a 15–20-minute walk). Buses L7 and L7A connect the area to Oranjestad (downtown) and beaches like Arashi and Palm Beach in the opposite direction. Bus fares are affordable: a one-way ride costs $2.60 or AWG 4.50, a return card is $5.00 or AWG 8.75, and a day pass is available for $15.00 or AWG 26.25.
