The property sits snugly between the great PACIFIC OCEAN and vast stretches of RICE FIELDS, with a view of the ominous BULUSAN VOLCANO in the horizon. The Malasugi Room is on the second floor of our BALINESE-INSPIRED home, within a 2,000 square meter fenced property. It's the first finished guest structure, with the swimming pool and music studio soon to follow. The portion of the property under construction is enclosed for your privacy. Entering the gate, you'll see the Main House ahead. The NATURAL DIPPING POOL at the bottom of the staircase is shared by all guests. Upstairs, the second floor LIVING, DINING, AND KITCHEN AREA is a large central area with a high ceiling shared by guests on the second level. The LAMADANG suite and TURINGAN loft are listed separately, so you might share the house with up to 6 other guests. The BATALAY loft features wide sofas for lounging, a large LED TV for binge watching on Netflix, and a study desk if you're feeling productive, the perfect balance of work and relaxation. The living room, kitchen, and dipping pool at the bottom of the stairs are shared with other Baia Nest guests. >ROAM FREELY: The property is fenced in, so guests and animals can roam freely. Just avoid the Main House Lanai, Turingan Loft, and Lamadang Suite if you haven't booked them. >SHARED SPACES: The Shell Bathroom is spacious and unique with a shower stall that wraps around you like a shell. >ENTERTAINMENT: Books, games, and Netflix are available for your enjoyment. >FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN: The kitchen includes all everything you need to cook up a feast, except for a microwave oven. Enjoy the complimentary self-service breakfast with our very own sourdough bread, peanut butter with cacao, fresh fruit, eggs and a special blend of the best local coffee from Mindanao. Our Onsite MANAGER JB, will also be around during work hours. Feel free to approach him for any assistance you might need. Ate Nicel, Ate Doris and Ate Vilma Santos make up our HOUSEKEEPING staff, and are always eager to share helpful knowledge about Gubat, their home town. Our SECURITY GUARD is also always happy to help you with your vehicles as you enter and exit. Guests will be delighted to meet our adorable FURRY FRIENDS: two lovely poodles, a playful labradoodle, and five quirky cats. Please take care not to let them run into the street when entering or exiting our front gates. Other things to note THINGS TO CONSIDER: >You may encounter farm wildlife such as field mice, insects, and reptiles. >Occasional power outages within the province can occur. >SOME LEAKS may happen from the native roof after heavy rain. >The cottage uses only ELECTRIC FANS for additional cooling and no AC. >PARKING is available streetside outside the property. >Some areas may be under CONSTRUCTION during the day. >PETS allowed after an approval process, with a P500 pet fee. >Extra charges may be applied for special requests such as early check in or late check out. >A MOTORBIKE and MINIVAN are available for rent. ACTIVITIES Sorsogon has great activities for all types of groups and individuals. Booked guests have access to our guide book for things to see and do around town! PARKING: Our driveway within the property can only accommodate two cars, or one vehicle for each room, as we are still constructing the carport. If these slots are taken, guests will have to park their vehicles by the road outside the property. CONSTRUCTION Baia Nest is a work in progress. We are currently building our pool. We will do our best to keep the noise to a minimum when there are guests around. BROWNOUTS We sometimes have whole day brownouts (6am-6pm), but we have a small generator that can power the refrigerator and wifi. The generator is not strong enough to power the water pump at the same time, so we have to choose if you want water or internet! There is water in the ground floor areas, though the pressure is a little weak. We'll be sure to coordinate when this happens! DOORS AND WINDOWS The living room doors, loft and kitchen windows are still being crafted by our carpenter. These will be installed little by little, so expect that there may be some missing doors and windows during your stay. BED FRAME The bed is on the floor, as seen in the pictures. We are working towards having bed frames, but the doors and windows come first! ANIMALS AND PETS: Guests with pets should coordinate with us before arrival. Pets are allowed after a short approval process along with a pet fee. Pets need proper introduction to our Baia Nest animals. Our dogs are not usually friendly to strange cats. Being next to the rice fields, you may encounter farm wildlife such as field rats, insects, and reptiles. MEALS Though all our Nests are self-service, since Gubat doesn't have such a large selection of restaurants, you have the option of hiring a local cook to prepare meals for you, or a kitchen assistant, if you prefer to cook yourself. Ate Nicel cooks delicious local dishes. Ask us for the menu, and we can send it over. Cost depends on the group size and the number of meals you want prepared per day. SWIMMING We do not have lifeguards in our house or on the beach, so swim at your own risk! Always be aware of the currents and wave conditions before entering the water. DISCOUNTS Our guests often regret not booking longer, so we've added in discounts for stays of 2 nights or more. The longer you stay, the bigger the discount. Treat yourself to that extra day! What's more, if you book within 6 days prior to your booking date, you are automatically granted a 20% discount. DAYTIME GUESTS Daytime guests are not allowed for single room bookings. NOISE Our house is located beside the road. Expect street sounds, and the sound of fish vendors at 6 in the morning. When there is a fiesta anywhere in the vicinity, the sound travels across the rice fields to our house. This happens only a few days in a year. REBOOKING In line with our firm cancellation policy, we do not allow rebooking less than 2 weeks before your stay. CLEANING AND SHEET CHANGES In our effort to reduce unnecessary use resources, cleaning and sheet changes are conducted every 3 days for longer stays. Should you want your sheets to be changed daily, this can be arranged for an extra cleaning fee. VEHICLES FOR RENT.
