16C farmhouse with rustic charm & character set over 3 floors. Covered outdoor games room with bar, ping pong, table football & darts. Perfect countryside hideaway, ideal for large families or get-togethers. Sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms. Walking distance from a tap room & Biddenden vineyard. 10 min drive to Tenterden with its steam railway, independent shops, pubs and restaurants. Great for sunsets underneath the pergola. Central for Kent & Sussex castles, wineries, villages, pubs and beaches. The space A wonderful 16th Century family farmhouse with Georgian and later additions, sleeping 10 people comfortably in 5 bedrooms. No Parties or Events: Goldwell Farmhouse is a place to come and unwind. We ask that there are no parties or events held at Goldwell Farmhouse during your stay. Only guests that are registered to stay are permitted to be at Goldwell Farmhouse. It is a strict rule that no extra visitors are allowed unless agreed with us, in advance, in writing. Note: we sleep a maximum of 10 people unless agreed otherwise with you in writing. No hen or stag groups (this is a strict condition of our insurance) The farmhouse occupies a rural, whilst not isolated, position at the end of a shared drive. Very quiet and tucked well away from any roads. It features an abundance of period features including fireplaces and beams with good ceiling heights. On entering the property the first room is a dining room with a large oak table and chairs and a beautiful open inglenook fireplace. This room is the centre of the house with doors off leading to the main triple aspect living room, a quaint double aspect sitting room, the kitchen/breakfast room and down to the laundry room and WC. The kitchen has an island with small table and barstools, views across the countryside and double doors leading to the patios on the south side of the house. There is a circular dining table on the top patio, and comfortable seating and table under the grape vine and jasmine covered pergola facing west to watch the beautiful summer sunsets. The garden has plenty of space for games and different areas in which to relax. On the first floor there are large bedrooms on either side at the top of the staircase, each with king beds and ample storage for clothes and lovely big sash windows with garden views to the rear of the property. Crossing the landing and the library area, main bathroom, and designated work space you reach the main bedroom. A beautiful, beamed, double aspect room with an open fireplace and an en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower. Winding stairs lead up to the two bedrooms on the second floor, which each contain wash basins. One has twin beds and the other contains a double bed. The property also has a covered outdoor games room with bar area, seating, ping pong, table football and a dart board. It has barn-style double doors which open up one entire end of the room. Plenty of space for garden games and private spaces for relaxing. The immediate gardens and paddock (plus chicken run) are just over 1 acre in size. There is a second, similar sized, plot containing paddocks and a tennis court, in a state of disrepair! but which you are welcome to use. Guest access The entire house is available for your use. Other things to note Parking for up to 5 cars (only). Being a period, grade 2 listed house there is no double glazing. The wood burning stoves and open fires make the living rooms very cosy and there is central heating throughout and underfloor heating in the laundry room and aga (in cooler months) but in colder weather we recommend you bring adequate clothing to be prepared! With the open fireplaces please be sure to use fire guards at all times and never leave fires unattended. We will provide first basket of logs free of charge, additional logs can be found at the Gulf garage a short drive away.
