There is so much more to this self-catering home than just statistics…. This house is ideal for families - lots of rooms and spaces to be together...or to have privacy when it’s needed. Grandparents who don’t enjoy stairs could be very comfortable on the lowest level, with a sitting room opening out to the pool and garden and 2 bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen on the same level. Bedroom configuration is as follows: Ground floor – one bedroom with a queen-sized double bed, and one bedroom with 2 single beds. One floor up – large main bedroom with king-sized bed and a second small bedroom with 2 single beds. This part can be closed off at night. There is a bathroom with 2 basins, toilet and shower to serve these 2 rooms. Ideal for parents who want to be very close to young children without having them sleep in the main bedroom. Then there is a bedroom with en-suite bathroom also on this level, close to the dining-room. On the loft level above this, there are 2 bedrooms which share a bathroom – one room with a double bed, and one with a single bed. There is a small mezzanine sitting area adjoining these rooms. Most of the bedrooms have generous cupboard space and air-conditioning. Fans are also provided. Dining-room may also be used as an office, as the upper level kitchen provides plenty of space for family meals. The dining- room looks out onto the trees and is a very pleasant space. The Location and surrounding area The house is at 22 Hornbill Street within the little town of St Lucia. Situated in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and close to the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi game parks. 2.2 kilometres from the Jabula beach and St Lucia Estuary, and 30 kilometres from Cape Vidal. Walking distance from restaurants, shops and St Lucia main street. Hippos walk down the main street most nights, warthog families browse on the pavements in the day, and there is an amazing range of birdlife…. and the main gate into iSimangalisto park is literally on the town doorstep. 3000 litre on- site reserve water tank. Ground floor kitchen has a new gas hob. Guest access Guests have access to all areas of the house, however 2 of the 6 cupboards in the main bedroom are locked, and 1 of the many cupboards in the upstairs kitchen is also locked. Your Host Maans (Hermanus) has a decade of experience in hosting in St Lucia. He has had glowing reviews from guests and we look forward to more of these!
