Victorian townhouse, 2 mins to beach, EV, parking
Description
Beautiful Victorian house with stunning views, 2 minutes stroll to harbour and beaches. Private parking in front of the house and EV charger. Making Waves has a spacious interior and sunny patio. Original features/handmade furniture give real character. Situated on a quiet private lane with no thru traffic above tropical gardens/Hepworth Museum. Place a pin on your perfect location to base yourself in St. Ives and we believe you’d choose here - and this had been our home until 2022, so we know! The space Entering the house the living/dining rooms have been opened out into a spacious area stretching back into the kitchen/breakfast room with a glass roof extension. A wood-burning stove in the original marble fireplace gives a cosy off-season feel. The dining area features a well-stocked library catering to both local interest and various eclectic tastes. The well-appointed kitchen features the only original Cornish Range cooker left on Richmond Place and one of few left in St. Ives. A modern island with gas hob and oven takes over the cooking duties nowadays. To the rear is a laundry/wc and rear entrance with surfboards/windbreaks in the ‘coal shed’, and a spray hose for washing salt and sand off after the beach. Upstairs is a large bathroom with glass-wall shower and stylish bath. Past a separate wc are a twin room and master bedroom with King size hand-made driftwood bed and stunning sea views from the bay window. On the second floor is a spacious attic room with vaulted ceiling, double and 2 single beds, ensuite bathroom. And the best views in the house from front and rear windows. Guest access The whole property is yours. You have keys to both front and rear entrances. We have a basement for owners storage that is accessed from the patio, but kept locked whilst guests are staying. Other things to note We will provide you with a map revealing the web of tiny paths that open St. Ives up to intrepid explorers - including our family ‘secret way’ idyllic short cut to Porthmeor beach (and the Tate) for beach days….. PARKING - Richmond Place (like much of St. Ives) is a narrow lane unsuitable for very large vehicles. Our space at the front of the house is not suitable for oversized SUVs or camper vans over 5 metres - please enquire if unsure. We can direct to suitable parking nearby in this case. Barbara Hepworth Museum is literally at the bottom of our lane, so recommend as a first stop before it gets busy!
