The space About the space This secluded floor to ceiling A frame custom build was inspired and built by our father Bob. He had a vision of a family retreat with not only his single family in mind, but spacious enough for extended family and friends to all enjoy. Come! savor a cup of coffee on the furnished wrap-around deck with the sound of mountain air moving through the pines above. Or sip a glass of wine beside one of 2 wood-burning fireplaces. Soak in the serene and uninhabited forest of Big Trees that will captivate all the pleasures of mountain living and ignite the curiosity of exploration just steps from the front door. At just above 5,000 feet of elevation you can explore the unlimited outdoors come winter or summer. Ski and snowboard at Bear valley Resort, fish the lakes of Alpine and White Pines, or the rivers from North Fork to South Fork and beyond. Hike Big Trees State Park's many scenic trails. Wine taste and shop in the charming town of Murphy's, or see the secret caverns at Mercer or Moaning Caverns. Visit Historic Columbia State Park and take old time photos, or pan for gold. Take part in swimming, tennis, frisbee golf, and BBQ's at Big Tress rec-center. After you explore in the fresh mountain air, retreat to this oasis with family and friends. Make sure to click the heart in the top to save our listing for another time. 2nd-Level Living: 2,954 sqft The main living area and kitchen is located on the second floor so you can relax close to the tree tops. The open floor plan provides a large couch, 2 recliners, an entertainment center, wood-burning fireplace just steps from your fully equipped kitchen, wrap-around bars, and large dinning table. The bars seat 7 and the dinning table seats 10. There are two exterior doors just off the living room and dinning room to the 2nd level wrap-around deck. You can fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the trees on the fully furnished deck with gas BBQ. Down the hall from the 2nd-level living area you'll find 3 bedrooms and full bath. 1 room hosts a queen, 2 hosts a king. All rooms include fresh linens, extra blanket and pillows, hangers, luggage rack, portable fan, dressers and closets for storage. The full bath hosts a shower, 2 vanities, fresh towels, hair dryer, magnifying mirror, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. 1st-Level Living: Located downstairs is the 1st-level living area with an entertainment center, foosball table, library, DVDs, games, wood-burning fireplace, and 1/2 bath. Down the hall past the entryway and mudroom you can locate 1 bedroom with a queen bed, 2nd bedroom with 8 twin bed. The full bath has a bathtub with shower, 1 vanity, fresh towels, hairdryer, magnifying mirror, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Next to the full bath is the laundry. You'll have full access to the washer and dryer and provided with laundry detergent, dryer sheets, iron and ironing board. We have 2 pack-n-plays and a highchair available upon request. We are dog friendly and provide dog bowls, matts, rags, and cleaning supplies for your furry friends. Please, no dogs allowed on furniture or bedding. RV and Trailers are not permitted on the property. Our Guest capacity is 16. We will assume additional guest beyond our 16 guest occupancy would be utilizing the space if RV's and Trailers are parked on our property. Nightly pricing takes in account the wear and tear for cleaning and repairs, as well as using additional resources. We've capped our occupancy at 16 guests to help us set fair pricing to cover these costs. Over capacity and the use of RV's and Trailers goes against our policies and we will enforce vacating our space if these policies are not met by guests. Activities and destinations: Big Trees Village Recreation Center is the social HUB of Big Trees Village, a neighborhood association located in the heart of Camp Connell. BTVRC has been one of our #1 summer family vacation destinations. We have been dedicated members of this association since the beginning. As a guest of “Big Trees Retreat,” you will have full access to this center. Located only 1.8 miles from “Big Trees Retreat,” it offers swimming pools, tennis, bocce, frisbee golf, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, children’s playground, a multi-purpose field, and a large (reservable) BBQ area. Directly behind the property is uninhabited forest. Enjoy the peace, quiet, and privacy we have to offer. *You have access to the entire cabin accept the garage and housekeeping closets.
