Erb'n Roots, a working farm

Whether you're looking for a quiet place to stay or a countryside adventure, check us out. Just 6 miles from historic downtown Marietta, we’re a 108-acre family farm with beloved Highland cattle and sweet goats, too. Open to general public on limited summer weekends. Trails, creeks, fields, hammocks and front row seats to stunning sunsets are all part of the package. A nearly century-old barn offers a custom banquet table for a special occasion or meal. Our Airbnb -- the upstairs of the original 1930s farmstead home -- offers a quaint living area with a kitchenette. Kitchenette includes a refrigerator, air fryer, microwave and coffee station and is stocked with essential dishes, silverware and casserole cookware. Doordash delivers, or you can create your own feast. Our family room offers space to stretch out and relax after a day hiking the trails. There, a 43-inch screen TV, Wifi, and plenty of books offer escape on a rainy day, and a cozy children’s nook is stocked with books, puzzles and games. The bedroom features a queen bed and daybed. Additionally, a sleeper chair in the living room converts to a child’s bed. Bathroom, as the rest of the space, was recently renovated. Washer and dryer included. All that framed art on the wall - the butterflies and clovers and cows and sunsets? Those are all from right here at Erb’n Roots. TWO LAST NOTES: Access to the upstairs Airbnb space is by steps only. On some spring and fall weekends, we open the farm to the public. Please check "other details to note" for those dates. Guest access Park just footsteps from the front door, accessible by a keypad. The code is changed with each stay for your additional security. The Airbnb is one side of the original homestead and is locked both from the owner's and guests' sides. Your space will be only your space while you stay here. Feel free to explore our farm, but know that safety - yours, ours and our animals - is our top concern. Stay on the trails when hiking and never, EVER cross fences to get closer to the cattle. Barn rental available, too. Message for details. Other things to note TRAVEL: The quiet countryside means gravel roads. Go slow and be respectful of other drivers. CROWDS: Erb'n Roots also is a community space on special summer weekends. If you do not like crowds, keep this in mind while booking. We'll reopen Sept. 13 and 14, 2025, and we will be open for most October weekends as the crisp autumn air returns. We'd love for you to join us for the fun! WINTER: Yes, we do! The Highlands are at their fluffiest when the temperatures plummet. TRAILS: We have trail maps and can advise you on the best spots to watch a spectacular sunset. Likewise, feel free to relax on the Big Barn porch and, as the stars appear, listen to the sounds of the night. (Yes, those really are coyotes you hear!) NATURE: But here's the note of caution: The outdoors means bugs and mud and thistles, too. That's all part of Mother Nature and her life-giving biodiversity. Remember the sunscreen and bug spray along with your walking shoes. COMMON SENSE: Be smart and be kind. Leave the wild animals alone. Stay on the trails and do NOT cross fences into pasturefields to get closer to cows. Wear sensible shoes. Don't litter. LIABILITY: You assume liability when you stay at Erb'n Roots as with any Airbnb. ACCESSIBILITY: And as noted elsewhere, the Erb'n Roots Airbnb is a second-floor apartment of the farmhouse, accessible only by stairs.
