At the centre of one of the South Cotswolds’ most charming riverside villages, The Stables is a newly refurbished and interior designed two bedroomed cottage (allowing 4 guests maximum, including babies in cots), with private garden, EV charger and complimentary off street private parking. Historic Lechlade-on-Thames is the perfect base from which to explore the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and its picturesque hamlets, villages and towns like Bibury, Burford and Cirencester. The space The principal bedroom has a kingsized four poster bed, freestanding roll-top bath and Bramley bubble-bath, a 36” smart ‘Art’ television and a full-length wardrobe. Lovingly dressed with Soak & Sleep organic French flax linen bedding, each bedside has a USB & USBC charger port (in case you forget yours, cables not supplied). The room is equipped with privacy blinds and blackout curtains. Bedroom ‘2’ comprises a sumptuous double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and butter-light Naturalmat linen bedding. Clad in reclaimed grain store boards, furnished with deep-fill sofa, black and white photographic prints, cosy boucle armchair and a wood burning stove, it is a unique escape; cosy and comfortable. Guests can relax in front of the 43” smart ‘Art’ Tv and plan tomorrow’s itinerary. The dining space comfortably seats 4 on a combination of built-in banquet seating and standalone chairs. Versatile lighting options mean you can tailor the ambiance of the space, and dine in front of the fire if you wish. The Stables’ fully fitted kitchen means guests can cook for themselves in absolute luxury. Don’t fancy washing up? The Stables is equipped with a dishwasher. A built-in washing machine allows for a freshen up after those muddy Cotswolds walks. Induction hob, fan oven, wine fridge and Nespresso machine as well as the delights of Lechlade-on-Thames on your door-step mean you have all the ingredients for an incredible, relaxing and memorable stay at your finger tips. The bathroom, paved in heated (underfloor) Tuscany limestone cobbles, has a rainfall shower and countryside inspired Bramley bath & body products, heated towel rail and super soft White Company cotton towels which mean you’ll have to try hard to resist the cosy. The Stables’ private, gated garden with bistro dining space, benches around the fire pit, statement outdoor lighting, Annabel hydrangeas and fox-gloves is totally dog-proof; and, access to a secluded private paddock means your furry friend can enjoy complete privacy with The River Thames, house boats and picturesque weeping willow swaying in the breeze on the other side of the pleached hedge. Please note we allow one dog per stay, and do not permit dogs to be left unattended at any time. Our furry guests are asked to bring a dog bed from home and are not permitted to sleep on furniture. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the entirety of the single level property. Accessed through a lavender bordered landscaped forecourt and via it’s own private paved garden, The Stables is entirely private but amazingly well located for all that Lechlade-on-Thames and the local area has to offer. Other things to note EV charging facilities are available on request and for a nominal fee. Our small pocket of the South East Cotswolds is popular and so we would strongly recommend booking dinner reservations in advance of your arrival. We love sharing local hot spots, pubs and restaurants and would be more than happy to suggest some enticing dine out options. Lechlade itself is well placed when it comes to dining and pub options, and the ability to walk rather than drive to one’s evening activity is a real win. Lechlade-on-Thames sits on the edge of the Cotswolds ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’, within The Cotswolds Waterpark and on The Thames Path. There are a number of pubs, cafes and eateries accessible on foot from The Stables itself, and we have extensive tailored lists of our favourite local attractions we can provide in digital format or via our dedicated social media feed for you to refer to throughout your stay.
