Huge home situated on the Poona Creek with beautiful views. Lots of space for larger groups. Full amenities to make your stay comfortable & feel like home. All bedrooms are air conditioned. Fireplace & ping pong table in the family room. Full kitchen with new appliances. Washing machine & dryer for your convenience. Plenty of parking & room to store a boat. We’ve loved spending time at our family holiday home, so we now allow you to experience the beautiful space with your family too! The space With high ceilings, large air conditioned bedrooms & two huge living areas this property is great for larger groups & has a great vibe. From the rear balcony you have an elevated almost 180° view of Poona Creek. Access to the house is wheelchair friendly with a ramp at the front & no internal stairs. Large living areas are in the centre of the house with bedrooms on either side, perfect for limiting disturbance for the early sleepers. The kitchen is fully equipped, with new appliances & everything you need to unleash your culinary skills. The fridge has filtered water & an ice machine - perfect for cocktails! There’s also a dedicated drinks fridge & deep freezer which you’re welcome to store your crabbing & fishing bait in. There’s ample parking space both inside the front yard & on the roadside with plenty of space to park a boat or caravan during your stay. Bring your bikes, Poona is a great place to take the kids for a ride or have a drink at the ‘Tides Out’ bar while the kids play on the playground. If you’re looking for a small coastal town with friendly locals & 80’s living vibes - Poona is your place! There’s 1 small general store, however we recommend you do a full grocery shop before you come as they may not have everything you need. Alternatively, you can dine at ‘Tides Out’ where they have a rotating menu of yummy pub style foods to enjoy both at the venue or take away. “Please make yourself at home and respect the property as your own!” :) Guest access The house has 6 bedrooms, 5 accessible by guests. The other is being used as a store room. All other areas of the house are accessible. You can take a walk from the rear of the property through the mangrove reserve where you can access the beautiful Poona Creek for a swim on a high tide. On low tide, you can walk out onto the sandbar & let the kids play or pump sand yabbies - great bait! Other things to note With the luxury of staying on the water in Queensland, sometimes comes with sandflies (midgies) depending on the season. Please ensure you pack some long sleeved clothing which helps you to avoid being stung if they happen to be around during your stay in the warmer months. Fishing shirts, loose linen or cotton breathable pants & long sleeved shirts are perfect for this. We also supply coils & some repellant (under the sink) for your comfort.
