Tigh Na Mara is Gaelic for House by the Sea. This is an ideal location for visiting Edinburgh. The train station is 10 mins walk away and it's just 37mins to Edinburgh St Andrews can also be reached by train/bus connection. Shops, cafes etc are just 150m away. Bus stops for local conections, Edinburgh and St Andrews are just 50m away. The Beacon Leisure Centre with swimming pool, suna and gym is 5mins away at the beach. Burntisland Golf Course, the 10th oldest in the world, is open to visitors. The space Tigh Na Mara is a maisonette and is ideal for family's and couples. The Grade C listed property was built in 1840 and served the town as an Inn and Coach House until the early 20th Century when it was subdivided into two seperate residential flats. On the 1st floor entrance level the Master Bedroom overlooks Burntisland Links and the Twin Bedroom faces the rear garden area. A large Bathroom and Family Room are also on the entrance level. A spacious and stylish Lounge and Kitchen/Dining Area are on the upper level. There is also a small toilet on the upper level. Tigh Na Mara has private garden areas to the front and rear. The rear garden is divided by a path leading to the back gate onto Cromwell Road. As you face the rear, everything to the left hand side of the path is part of Tigh Na Mara. Everything to the right belongs to the property below. The neighbour is very friendly and tends not to use his garden area so there's plently privacy. However, please respect our neighbour by keeping noise down in the garden. Tigh Na Mara has a short-term let licence granted by the local Council - Fife Council (Ref: FI 00485 F). Guest access The address for Tigh Na Mara is 13 Kinghorn Road. Access to the property is via the Kinghorn Road frontage but the front door is to the rear at the top of the external stairs. There is a Key Safe box adjacent to the front door. Please contact Joe or Carole on day of arrival to obtain the Key Safe box combination number. The front door key will be inside the Key Safe box. Please note, the front door key needs to be positioned horizontally in the lock to insert and withdraw the key. On the sideboard in the hallway you will find another set of keys for the back gate to Cromwell Road at the rear of the property. Other things to note Options for car parking are to the front of the property on Kinghorn Road, to the rear of the property on Cromwell Road or within the Council Car Park approximately 150 yds away. All car parking is free. However, please note there are time restrictions for parking on Kinghorn Road from June to September. If you are a disabled parking badge holder, there is a disabled parking space on Cromwell Road and one on Kinghorn Road. These aren't dedicated to the property so it's first come first served. However, they are generally available. If using the Cromwell Road parking option, you'll need to get the back gate key from the sideboard unit in the hallway first to avoid having to walk round.
