Have fun with the whole family at this stylish traditional Villa. This charming 3 bedroom, fully self contained house is located 300m from the beach and 1km from the hustle and bustle of Ahangama town and railway station. It offers a serene escape with tasteful decor, modern amenities and a beautiful pool surrounded by lush gardens. Many restaurants are within easy walking distance. Gads Villa blends comfort and charm for the ideal family or group getaway. Please note that it is fan cooled. The space Gads Villa is situated amongst beautiful gardens that are home to wildlife such as mongoose, squirrels, monkeys, peacocks, lizards and bugs that are part of the tropical ecosystem. If you do not like nature then this is not the place for you. Gads Villa is an original part of an authentic neighbourhood that includes both residents and other beautiful villas. You will enjoy hearing the local bread vans music and calls from the fish vendors as they cruise the streets. The train passes several times a day and if you lean over the back wall you will see the crowded carriages full of smiling faces adding to the authenticity of your stay. Gads Villa provides a relaxing respite from the hustle and bustle of Sri Lankan life whilst still being within walking distance to great beaches, bars and restaurants. It also boasts our beautiful velvet apple tree that is perfect to sit under to enjoy afternoon drinks. The flat grassy area allows room for children to run and play. However, please be mindful that the pool is not fenced so children must be closely supervised at all times to ensure their safety. Gads villa shares the parking and pool area with Kuda Gads which has a maximum occupancy of 2. If you would like to book the Kuda apartment as well please message and we will make a special offer. Guest access It can be arranged for staff to greet guests on arrival and assist them with luggage and a tour through the house. A key garage will be accessible on the verandah so that keys never need to leave the villa. They can be safely stored so that guests aren’t worried that they will be misplaced. The code will be given to guests on arrival. Please note that the laneway leading directly to Gads is quite narrow. When we built the pool trucks etc were able to make it up however, some VAN drivers may be reluctant (particularly at night). If this is the case just ring prior to arrival and we will organise to collect luggage and guests from the end of the laneway. It is about an 80m distance. Tuk tuks and cars can access much more easily. Let your driver know that there is room to turn around at Gads. Other things to note Gads Villa was built in 1924 and has been fully renovated to celebrate its 100 yr birthday. The walls of the building are a thick mixture of lime, sand, rock and coral to best insulate against Sri Lankan hot summer days. It is furnished with an eclectic mix of modern and antique pieces that work together to create a homely, comfortable holiday home. The house has been recently repainted and new remote controlled ceiling fans installed to enhance your comfort. Trains pass each day starting at around 5 30am and the last being around 9 30pm. Approximately 12 pass each day and they are generally quite quick as they run with limited carriages. Compared to busy Matara rd with the buses and tooting the noise of trains is loud but minimal.
