An elegant getaway surrounded by an oasis of peace and immersed in the marvellous landscape of the High Salento. Just two years ago, the owner of this inherited property transformed the property of ancient origins, into a noble holiday residence. The villa, in a stand-alone position has been realised in the style of a Puglian farmhouse and has been renovated with sensitive refinement. In addition, it is furnished according to modern standards. The villa still retains the charm of a historical building and emanates a spirit of old grandeur. At the same time, the villa together with the rest of the property, instantly gives one the sensation of being a welcoming place to relax as soon as one sees it. Inspirational nature and the lightness of the summer in combination with this dream-like residence are the essence of a holiday. A residence for those that seek pleasure. The private pool is 15 metres by 6 metres (in use from 1° May until 30th September) with a sun terrace promises pure relaxation. On the property there are numerous places to relax in the open air. According to the time of day, one can enjoy various places such as that to see the sunset. The guests, dedicated to idleness, will surely find their favourite place for a siesta that takes them into the land of beautiful dreams. The colonnade with its pergola patiently offering its shade provides lots of space and offers the necessary ambience to make it an ideal place to meet and be in company of family and dear friends. The barbecue positioned at the back of the colonnade is perfect for beautiful and warm summer evenings. And when the air is full of the fantastic aroma of grilled fish the guests will without fail converge very quickly on the table for dinner! With its pale colour the villa stands out from the green olive groves and from the red earth. An ancient angel watches over from its small place, a recess of the external wall, a testimony to the history of the villa and representing for the owner a sort of good luck charm. The villa is framed by flourishing oleanders, lemon trees, climbing prickly pears and olives trees with knotted trunks and green leaves with a silver hue to them. In addition, the typical Mediterranean scrub of the area spreads out in front of one’s eyes. A traditional style of life, a welcoming atmosphere and the charm of the Mediterranean go side by side. The Villa Mediterranea does not only have a large external area but also the living area is of large dimensions in a way that from 8 to 14 people can be accommodated comfortably. The villa has 4 bedrooms of which 3 have an attached room that acts as a day area furnished with a bed settee and minibar. Each one of the 4 rooms has its own entrance with a key. In addition, every unit has been furnished with a beautiful modern bathroom (with shower and bidet) and a private small terrace at the back that looks out on to the olive groves. A completely new kitchen with seating is accessible separately and inspires creativity. The large table with a view of greenery provides sufficient space for all of the guests. When it is sunny, the dining area outside on the large communal terrace is preferable, where the specialities of Puglian cuisine can be prepared and hours can be spent in company and pleasure. Guest access Guests at Villa Mediterranea have access to all areas, as can be seen from the description. The private pool is also available to guests at their leisure. For safety reasons, children may only use the pool under adult supervision. Parents are responsible for their children. Other things to note Rentals are usually from Saturday to Saturday.
