"Escape to the Northwoods of Onalaska!" 4
Escape to the "Northwoods" of Onalaska! This guest room is next door to our restaurant, Red Pines Bar & Grill so a stay here means access to a full-service restaurant & bar, volleyball courts, the lake and great people. We are always available if you need anything during your stay. We have a new Red Pines Cafe opening April 2024 which will be open when the main restaurant is closed. There are 5 other rooms in Red Pines Lodging so the space is basically a hotel with your own private access. This room comes complete with a full kitchen, microwave, pots, dishes, glassware and linens. We are located on Lake Onalaska on Brices Prairie rich in natural beauty but close to all the unique offerings of La Crosse - just 15-20 min away. As involved owners of the Red Pines Bar & Grill, we are usually at the restaurant and easily accessible. In addition to our restaurant, Schafer's River Rentals is just a block away for fishing, boat/kayak/canoe rentals. A visit to the Visitor Center and you can walk the trails through the prairie and out to an overlook. At the overlook you are looking at the Mississippi River. This stretch is called Lake Onalaska you could see bald eagles or waterfowl. We are just a bit off the Great River Road. La Crosse County’s picturesque bluffs, riverlands, and quiet country highways make for some of the best road and mountain biking in the world. Over 100 miles of highly maintained bike paths and trails cover the region, and the City of La Crosse has achieved the Silver-Level designation as a Bicycle Friendly Community, with miles of designated bike lanes, bikeways well-marked by sharrows (shared-lane markings), and more bicycle friendly businesses per capita than any other city in Wisconsin. City road maps showing designated bike routes can viewed at the City of La Crosse website. There is always something to do in the area!!
