Here, the boundary between human presence and nature is still clearly felt. From the area around the house, hiking trails lead directly toward Mount Catria and the main peaks and valleys of the Apennines, ideal for walking and outdoor exploration. Once home to many families, the village now has only a few permanent residents. It is the perfect place for those seeking an intimate, essential experience and a slower, more authentic pace of life. Other things to note The houses of the small hamlet of Caprile date back to the 16th–18th centuries and are built with local limestone and wood. They were simple, solid homes, designed to last and to face the long winters, where daily life revolved around the fire, the kitchen, and the animals. The fireplace was the heart of the house. It was where people cooked, kept warm, and spent time together. Living spaces were essential, without running water or electricity, lit by candles and oil lamps. Every daily gesture followed the rhythm of the seasons. Torre Ammonite was born in this authentic mountain setting. Today, the house, fully restored, preserves that spirit through natural materials, silence, and a way of living that invites you to slow down and experience the place with respect.
