Home in Penrith

A spacious comfortable room with a king-sized 4-poster bed in a traditional Cumbrian Cottage in the village of Clifton, just a few minutes from the M6 & A66, but perfectly placed to explore the Northern Lake District, Pennines and Eden Valley. There is free on the road parking just outside. The room includes a kettle, a mini fridge, a small dining table and chairs, crockery, cutlery and cups and glasses. The space A stone built 4 bedroom Cumbrian cottage in the village of Clifton near Penrith. Central heating, double glazing and a recent refurbishment provide a private, pleasant and comfortable place to stay. We are 10 minutes drive from Ullswater and numerous classic walking, cycling and trail running routes. Although not as famous as other Cumbrian lakes such as Windermere, Ullswater is one of most impressive of all the Lakes. It offers Steamer boat tours, Aira Force waterfall, and walks for all abilities, including of course Helvellyn! Lowther Castle and Askham Hall (in the very pretty village of Askham) are both a 10 min drive away and the market town of Penrith, is also a 10 min drive northwards. You can also drive to Keswick in 25 minutes or Kendal in 40 minutes. The Eden Valley also features some beautiful hidden gems such as the picturesque villages of Morland, Crosby Ravensworth & Dufton. Guest access You will have access to the entrance hall, landing and your bedroom and a (shared) bathroom. Your room will be upstairs, and we live downstairs and you do not have to go through our part of the house to get in and out, so you can come and go as you please and have your own privacy. During your stay We live downstairs in the same house you will be staying in, but we will also provide contact details for you to message, text or call us if you need anything. Other things to note We do not provide breakfast, but we do provide cutlery and crockery if you want to bring your own (the mini fridge is 10 litres), or can recommend several local options. The bathroom you will be using is shared with one other room and occasionally us … we only use the shower and this is generally when you are out. We live downstairs and have our own toilet facilities. If you need secure bike storage, please contact us in advance. We can help with drying wet walking, running or cycling kit if needed. We have dogs (Margo the fearless Patterdale Terrier and Larry the inexhaustible Lakeland Terrier), but they are never in the parts of the house used by guests.
