Bring a pair of sturdy walking boots and let the relaxation begin. Other things to note We love dogs and genuinely welcome them (we have two monsters of our own). We do allow a maximum of two dogs in the accommodation. The only thing we ask is that your dogs be well-behaved and under control at all times, as we have our own animals, wildlife, and neighbouring farms with sheep. We also have three beautiful donkeys, a very old pony, and two horses who love to say hello, cuddle, and a carrot. We are off the beaten track here at Graig Fawr. Please note that our nearest shop is 3.5 miles away, and it is a convenience store at a petrol station in Beulah. Our closest supermarket is 11 miles away. We may not offer a hot tub, a private chef, or a personal trainer — but what we do have at Graig Fawr is something far more valuable: Tranquillity. Nestled in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains, our cosy cottage is the perfect place to relax, restore, read a book, and reflect. It’s a space to slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy the simple pleasures of nature and stillness. Spring is a time of the new. An abundance of wildflowers, the smell of bluebells, the hedgerows full of flora and nesting birds is not to be missed, the lambs, calves and foals in the fields, Canadian geese that nest on our wildlife pond, the moorhens and wild ducks with their young, and the cuckoo with its unmistakable call. Summer, you will see red kites and buzzards swooping quietly and majestically in the sky. It is quite a sight. The house martins and swallows move in for the season. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the elusive tawny owl or a family of hares on the farm. Various species of bats flying in the evening sun add a touch of wildlife magic to your stay. Autumn, the trees' colours, with their leaves changing to reds, yellows, and oranges, are our own little New England. The fruits of the hedgerows are perfect for foraging. Winter brings a different kind of beauty. As the temperature drops, the landscape transforms with the possible arrival of snow. If you're adventurous enough to brave the potential of being snowed in, you'll be rewarded with a peaceful and serene environment and perhaps even some sledging in the surrounding hills. When the night skies are clear all year, they are a fantastic sight. With no light pollution, you can see the stars. Making it an unforgettable stay.
