Applegarth Cottage is a beautifully rustic little farmstay retreat in the heart of the Bellarine Peninsula. Tucked away in a peaceful pocket, this charming cottage is the perfect hideaway. The space Applegarth Cottage sleeps two in a luxurious king bed, with a cosy living room, cute kitchen & dining space, and a gorgeous bathroom complete with walk-in shower and clawfoot tub. The fire pit is a beautiful spot for stargazing and marshmallow toasting, and now you’ll be able to enjoy our wood-fired hot tub for some starlit bathing! Our curious mini highlands are always up for a chat and a carrot over the fence, and the surrounding trees are a haven for wonderful birdlife. A scrumptious farm brekky is supplied for your first morning, including fresh eggs, milk, bread and homemade granola. Quality linens, soft robes and special treats dotted throughout the cottage make this stay a cosy and comfortable escape. We are located in the Bellarine hinterland, only 10 mins drive to Ocean Grove and Point Lonsdale, and 15 mins to Barwon Heads, Queenscliff and Portarlington. So close to stunning surf beaches, incredible wineries and winding bike trails, yet it feels a million miles from anywhere! We have a little treat for you at Applegarth Cottage, with our wood-fired Ember Outdoor Bath Tub! 🔥 We’ll set you up for your first night’s bathing with firewood & kindling, all you have to do is stoke up the firebox and sink into the deep soaking tub for a spot of stargazing… Option to BYO firewood for further soaks, or indulge in our Bathing Pack, which includes a large basket of firewood & kindling, a gorgeous spa pack from Shire House Farm, slippers, and Turkish towel hire (pre-order only, $50). Applegarth Cottage is one of two Maddens Lane Cottages properties available on the farm. It is set up for adults only, and no children are permitted. Its sister cottage, The Station Master’s Cottage sleeps 4 and is family-friendly, also listed on Airbnb and can be booked separately or together with Applegarth Cottage. If you would like to book both cottages pls send an enquiry via the MESSAGE HOST link for either and we can arrange both on one booking 😊 Guest access The guests are welcome to use all parts of the house and surrounds. The area is fully fenced, however pls note that our fences are post and wire with electric fencing, and not toddler proof! Other things to note Adults Only Policy Pls note this property is designed for 2 adults only. If you are travelling with children, our sister property next door, The Station Master’s Cottage, accommodates up to 4 guests of all ages, and has facilities such as a portacot, high chair and fire guard. Mobile service: Mobile service is reasonable, with the odd dip in certain parts of the property! WIFI Free WIFI is available at the property, however pls note that service can sometimes be a little slow/ intermittent, so if you require guaranteed speeds you are welcome to bring your own mobile internet. No pets policy: As much as we love dogs, unfortunately we are unable to accept any pets at the cottage. However there is a kennel located just around the corner if you need somewhere for your pooch! There is no handrail on the veranda/ decks - whilst not particularly high, care must be taken when using these areas. Pls familiarise yourselves with our Bushfire Plan on arrival. Pls ensure your Airbnb notifications are turned on and that your mobile number is correct on your booking for any updates. The Outdoor Bath Tub is for use by adults only, no children are permitted in the tub pls. Pls note that the property is for the use of booked guests only. Any visitors to the property whilst you are staying are the responsibility of the guest, and liability (personal or property- related) is the responsibility of the booked guest.
