Site cabins in green spaces – simple and with plenty of character

A small, lovingly designed site trailer on the outskirts of Bad Belzig – right next to an orchard meadow and a forest. Understated, close to nature and deliberately simple. Instead of running water, there is a 10-litre canister of drinking water. Rainwater from the water butt for washing the cats in the open air, and a lovingly constructed dry compost toilet in the former henhouse. The car has a small kitchen, a "writing" desk, a comfortable, wide bed, electricity and a LAN connection; there is no Wi-Fi. The space The site cabin stands in a residential farmyard on the outskirts of Bad Belzig and opens out onto the orchard meadow. The forest begins behind it. It is a simple place, but one that has been designed with a great deal of care and creativity. Not a traditional holiday home, but rather a small retreat for people who are content with less. The farm is alive. Several people live here; there are gardens, paths, everyday life. Everything is open and designed in a natural way. Everyone also has private spaces. I would ask you to respect this carefully. Some distance away is another site cabin that is permanently occupied. As a rule, you don't hear much from each other, but you're not completely alone. At the same time, there are many quiet moments – the sounds of birds, the wind in the trees, and the vastness of the meadow. The space around the site cabin is yours during your stay. A hammock can be hung between the trees – a lovely spot to relax and gaze up at the sky. ATMOSPHERE The site cabin is simple, but deliberately designed with great care. Many things have been given a second life here – old materials have been reused and repurposed. There are natural materials, an old kitchen that has been repainted, and lots of small details that have been added over time. Everything is more the result of organic growth than of perfect design. Some things bear the marks of their history and are allowed to remain just as they are. The place invites you to keep things simple; perhaps you'll sit outside on your terrace drinking your coffee – or gaze up at the starry sky in the evening. SUSTAINABILITY The location is a place with a minimal carbon footprint: Things have been given a second life A composting toilet conserves resources Less living space – more nature The mattress is always freshly made up; you bring your own bedding or sleeping bag. That way, we don't have to do a lot of washing all the time. I would also be happy to provide you with the inlets, so you only need to bring the covers. If that's not practical for you, let me know: we'll find a solution. DURING THE COLDER SEASON In the site cabin, there is a small stove that can be fired with wood on cold days. If you want to use it, there is a small surcharge for heating. GOOD TO KNOW Staying here is easy, and it's not like a typical holiday home.
