Welcome to the new Purple Hobbit Home! This is the larger side of the "duplexed" property. This is a unique, earth-integrated retreat nestled among 14k foot mountains and beneath some of the world's starriest skies. Experience the earthen home; it feels different. Accommodating 6 guests, our property boasts a relaxing hot tub, a sauna, a fire pit, and home-like amenities. 1 hr drive from the Great Sand Dunes NP. Pets welcome. Where healing meets elegance. The space This is the lower unit of the hobbit home. The home comfortably houses up to 6 guests. Discover a master bedroom featuring a king bed, another room with a queen bed, and a third bedroom with twin-sized bunk beds, perfect for the kids. The home offers a 6 person hot tub, a dry sauna, and a fire pit- ensuring tranquility throughout your stay. Most wood is locally harvested, and locally handcrafted by Sun Peak Builders. Come and experience this earthen home. It has a healing nature. It's one of these feelings words have a hard time capturing. It's experiential. Guest access Guests have access to 1.5 acres plus green belts adjoining the property. The upper unit is available to rent separately or both units together for larger parties. The "huts" border the property and are an archeological site to explore. Please don't move the rocks on the huts themselves! Other things to note Pets: Pets are welcome for a $75 fee per pet. Please keep them leashed (POA rules). Internet: Stay connected during your escape with our high-speed internet. Food Note: We are well equipped with basic kitchen equipment, but there is no food nor condiments supplied. We recommend panning your food around Crestone's local restaurant/grocery store availability times. Heating: The heat comes out of the wall heaters, but is completely controlled by the thermostats. On the right side of the thermostat there’s a little door. When you open it there will be a control panel to control the heat up and down. AC: There is an AC unit in the living room. There is a remote control that operates the unit: The top left button is the power button. If it’s not in cooling mode, press the ‘mode’ button and select ‘cool.’ And use the up and down arrow buttons to adjust to desired temperature! Cold Plunging: Just southeast of the home is Spanish Creek, which offers fresh, crisp, cold mountain water flowing right out of the Sangre De Cristo mountains. The temperatures range from 35°-60° depending on the season. Keep in mind that the water level ranges throughout the year. Please be respectful of the area if you choose to enjoy these local areas. Fire Pit Extra Warning: If the rocks in the fire pit are wet, they can pop and jump out when heated. Be mindful of this. (STR Permit Number, for Compliance: STR-26015)
