Water's Edge Leisure Houseboat
Spend some leisure time on a unique vintage 60s houseboat with a cozy 180 square feet of interior space providing basic essentials. Enjoy the view of the Mississippi River and the bluffs along the Great River Road. Your morning beverage will taste better with a beautiful sunrise or get lost in the sunset while relaxing next to the calm evening water. Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway or a fun-filled adventure on the water, our property on the Mississippi River is the perfect choice. The space Our property is a cozy quaint houseboat perched on the bank of the Mississippi. There is a kitchenette with a sink, small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. We also have a charcoal grill outdoors. Grilling utensils are in cabinet for your use but please bring charcoal, fluid and lighter. The kitchen has paper towels, utensils, plates, bowls, coffee cups, and salt and pepper shakers. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and toilet along with bath towels and wash cloths. The queen size bed includes pillows and linens. There is an air conditioner unit with a remote control as well as a portable heater for chilly nights. Outside on the gravel is a firepit for your use but please bring firewood and chairs for sitting around the fire. You are right on the river so please make sure to bring bug spray/repellant/thermacell. You can stream on the smart TV but will have to provide your own hotspot as there is no wifi accessible on the property. Please bring everything you need as this is a very small town. The nearest market is 20 minutes away. We want to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable so please let us know what we can do for you. Other things to note The bald eagles are back in the area and are frequently seen by the river! Come see for yourself. A free boat slip is included with your rental. Please inquire with host for boat slip. Check out some of the sand beaches, water front establishments, or a day of fishing. A Free public Boat ramp is within 2 miles by road @ Hideaway Harbor Park. The park is approximately ¼ mile by water to the Liberty Harbor entrance. Harbor entrance is UMR 213.2 on the Mississippi River. Some Local attractions nearby include: Our Lady of the river, a statue of Blessed Mary erected by the Town’s people of Portage Des Sioux in giving thanks for saving the town from the Flood of 1951. A deep history of the area is inscribed on the pathway tiles and on the base of the statue. A recorded message can also be heard at the base of the Statue which will enlighten you on the history. A 10 minute drive to Grafton ferry crossing over to Grafton Illinois opens up another full day of adventure and river history. Step back in time and visit Historic Main Street St Charles. A walk along the Cobble stone street includes small shops, & restaurants.
