The Chalet @ Darclo Farm

The unforgettable escape of The Chalet @ Darclo Farm rests upon the open grassy hillside, overlooks the meandering valleys towards the picturesque Mt Flinders, in the Scenic Rim. The Chalet is 100% off grid and is home to a happy herd of roaming cattle, koalas, kangaroos & other wildlife. Soak under the stars in the outdoor stone bath, unwind with a book on the deck while overlooking the paddocks, stroll along the tracks or snooze in the king size bed. Experience that 'faraway feeling'. The space The Chalet is perched hillside so that you can view the constantly changing colours and moods of Mt Flinders. Embrace that ‘faraway feeling’ knowing that our main farmhouse is located 500m from The Chalet (out of sight). Enjoy the comfort of air-con in the warmer seasons and the cosy indoor fireplace during the cooler months (ample sustainably-sourced firewood supplied). Snuggle in the king-sized bed or meander out onto the deck and submerge yourself in the 2-person stone bath, aka ‘star bath’. It’s a relaxing spot to view the stars suspended above you. Kitchen: Cook up some treats in the well-equipped kitchen (full-sized fridge & dishwasher, microwave, gas cooktop) or cook up on the BBQ, while overlooking the paddocks. Chatter and reflect while you dine inside, looking through to the spacious paddocks beyond or choose ‘alfresco’ dining out in the deck. Please note: We (Shane and Sara) are generally on-farm during your stay. However, sometimes they may be off-site during or for the duration of your stay. In any instance, we are always happy to help where possible. 😊 Guest access Koala spotting is frequent here at Darclo Farm. We’ve made it easy for you to stroll through the paddocks using the 5kms of marked and managed bush tracks. They weave through grasslands, across tree-filled ridge lines and along Purga Creek. Load up the picnic basket (provided) and unwind beside the creek…you might spot some turtles. Explore on foot at your own pace and enjoy the peaceful and natural experience. Other things to note While you are visiting Darclo Farm you may hear and be visited by our herd of Droughtmaster beef cattle. In Spring and Summer you might even see some cute calves snuggled closely beside their mums. They prefer to welcome and admire you from a distance (so please don't approach them). Darclo is a 15 minute relaxing drive from the quaint townships of Boonah, Kalbar and Harrisville, that are home to many events, yummies, unique shops and splendid communities. We are a 50 min scenic drive from Brisbane and 1.5hrs from Toowoomba & the Gold Coast.
