5 minutes by car from Lac des Settons (15 minutes by bike) in a place that served as a base for the "Maquis Serge" in the 1940s, in the depths of our Morvan. You are staying in a large farmhouse with your family, or with friends for a stay in the great outdoors. 5 minutes from the village by car: 2 restaurants, bakery, bar-tobacconist, delicatessen. Markets, supermarkets, shops, restaurants 15 minutes away: Ouroux, Château-Chinon, Montsauche. Hiking trails from the hamlet. The space The house is entirely dedicated to you... On the ground floor a large open-plan kitchen, open to the dining room... a toilet and a small bathroom are accessible on this level. After a small step you access the living room with sofa, and large table that can also be used for your meals Above a staircase to the left of the room, a mezzanine with 2 bedrooms equipped with a double bed... A double bed serving as a spare can be opened on this mezzanine (with extra charge) To the right of this large room, a spiral staircase takes you to 2 bedrooms, with 1 double bed in each bedroom, one with a work space. A bathroom-toilet is dedicated to these 2 bedrooms. These 2 bedrooms are separated by a sliding curtain. On the ground floor, accessible from the outside, a washing machine with clothes drying rack. Televisions (2 sets) and Wi-Fi are available. The terrace garden in front of the house offers a vast panorama (nearby, woods, cows, valley...) quiet and relaxing. Located at the end of a quiet hamlet, the calm and natural rhythm of country life are part of the assets of this large residence. Heating is provided by a heat pump, and a pellet stove... The temperature provided in the central room may require wearing warm clothing in winter. Guest access The house is entirely dedicated to you... Private outdoor parking On the ground floor a large open-plan kitchen, open to the dining room... a toilet and a small bathroom are accessible on this level. You access the living room with sofa, and a large table that can also be used for your meals. It is also in this cathedral room that a large bay window offers you a magnificent view of the valley dotted with woods and meadows and Charolais cows. Above a staircase to the left of the room, a mezzanine with 2 bedrooms equipped with a double bed each. An extra bed can be provided on this mezzanine (with surcharge). To the right of this large room, a spiral staircase takes you to 2 bedrooms, with 1 double bed in each bedroom, one with a workspace. A bathroom toilet is dedicated to these 2 bedrooms. A quiet terrace extends this room. In a laundry room (outside access) on the ground floor a washing machine with dryer. Televisions and Wi-Fi are also provided in your home. There is also a barbecue, sun loungers, and an additional garden table. The outdoor space is entirely dedicated to you, within the limit of the space periodically occupied by your close neighbor. As these people are elderly, we rely on your common sense to respect their well-being. Thank you for your care of the objects, books, and other items made available to you for your use. Other things to note Accommodation accessible from 2h30 from Paris by car, 3h by TGV via Montchanin-Le Creusot, 2h30 from Lyon by car. Ideal location for a quiet stay, surrounded by nature... lakes and ponds and peaceful Charolaises. Many paths accessible from your home will allow you to discover our beautiful region, on foot, by bike, mountain bike, on horseback, but also by motorcycle! The proximity of Lac des Settons will allow you to practice fishing, swimming, canoeing, sailing and motor boating. You can also go to Lake Panneciére, and discover its wild side. You can also practice rafting, canoeing, climbing or whitewater swimming in the Challaux, or the Cure and its valley. You can easily get to Autun (half an hour by car) known for its Gallo-Roman and Medieval past. Enjoy Vézelay (45 minutes), a historic stage of the Camino de Santiago and its magnificent basilica, discover the small town of Lormes in full cultural and artistic development or Semur-en-Auxois and the village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain (one of the most beautiful villages in France). Many flea markets and small local markets enhance the pleasure of strolling. Good deals are always to be found! Finally, the simple charm of Morvan's traditional cuisine or a more sophisticated gastronomy (Maison Bernard Loiseau in Saulieu and other chefs' tables to discover). For the more mechanical among you, quad biking, motocross and vintage 2-wheel rides are organized on the winding roads of the Morvan. Finally, mountain biking and sports hikes are also on the menu in the Morvan region.
