Green Valley Yurts - Willow

Our yurts are beautifully hand made in Mongolia. They are fully insulated with a thick felt lining and their own wood stoves for cosy nights under the stars. Set on a small holding in the heart of Dorset downs, you have your own picnic area with fire pit and bbq. The shared facilities barn has everything for cooking, playing and relaxing as well as toilets and hot showers. Only 25 mins from the sea-there are plenty of beautiful villages, pubs, walks and historic sites to explore in the area too. The space The campsite is a truly magical spot, we have been open since 2013 and have had campers returning every year, because the enjoyed it so much. We have three large yurts with plenty of space around them. All the yurts are hand made in Mongolia and are fully insulated with a thick felt lining for extra cosiness. In the centre of each Yurt is a wood stove with a basket of seasoned wood, kindling, paper and matches, The floor is covered with rush matting - so even on chilly nights, the space is warm and inviting. Each Yurt is individually furnished with an eclectic mix of rustic furniture. This includes a This includes a double bed, single futons with a topper option for more comfort, as well as piles of cosy cushions, blankets and throws. The nights are lit up with solar powered fairy lights and candle lanterns for a truly special atmosphere. We ask that guests bring their own personal towels and bed linen (DUVET COVERS, SHEETS and PILLOW CASES) We provide duvets and pillows. Each Yurt sits on it's own decking with an area for picnicking or relaxing in the sunshine and enjoying the views. They have their own fire pit and picnic bench, parasol and seating area in front where you can enjoy a bbq in the evenings or stoke up the bonfire for marshmallow toasting.. We provide free fire pit wood. At the heart of the campsite is our timber clad Facilities Barn. This is a communal area where our guests can cook, eat, play, read, shower/bath and relax under cover. Kitchen: The kitchen area is a cheerful, cosy area, well equipped with fridges, hobs, crockery and cooking utensils. There is a large communal dining table as well as picnic benches outside for you to enjoy your feasts. We hope that everything you need is provided, so campers don't need to bring along their own cooking utensils. Showers & Toilets: We have shared shower as well as a larger family shower/bath room, each yurt is assigned its own individual toilet. We help heat our hot water using a solar thermal panel on our roof to be as green as we can, we hope to expand this system in the future so we are 100% carbon neutral. Toys, games & books: We provide a selection of toys and games for children and adults. There is also a bookshelf of local interest and fiction for you to work your way through during your stay. Maps & Tourist information: We will provide you with maps and ideas for walking and cycling in the area, as well as information on local attractions and good places to eat and drink. The on site vegetarian cafe sells lovely treats to enjoy during your stay. They are open Friday & Saturday only Guest access The yurts are located in a field on our small holding. Campers will be greeted on arrival and are able to drop off their belonging at their yurt before leaving their car in the car park at the entrance. Our guests all have their own private yurt and picnicking area. The facilities barn with cooking/eating area, toilets and showers is communal with the other two yurts. Other things to note IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We aim to provide guests with everything they need for their camping experience, but we ask that guests bring their own personal towels and bed linen (duvet covers, sheets and pillow cases)We provide duvets and pillows. The wood for the wood stove and outdoor fire pit is provided. There is no wifi on site, but there is strong 4G for most providers.
