Cozy by the Lake + Breakfast in Duncan
Description
*Contract workers + rowers welcome!* Nestled in the heart of the Cowichan Valley (Van Island's best kept secret) nature abounds at this bright, peaceful + centrally-located sanctuary. 5 min drive to Duncan’s adorable downtown + famous Saturday market, and 3 min walk down to beautiful Quamichan Lake to sip your coffee while eagle-watching, or catch the Canadian Olympic Rowing Team practicing. Included is a simple granola breakfast, to help power you up for your adventures! The space This bright, pet-free abode is a cozy 600sq ft, and is a separate downstairs suite with private back entrance and patio, in an older single family home on a spacious lot. Only your two quiet hosts live above. The suite features climate-controlled central heating and A/C to keep you warm in winter, and cool in the summer. The large master bedroom contains a dreamy pillow-top Queen bed, closet, dresser and private work station with flat screen monitor (bring your cables) and lightning-fast wifi. The living room couch opens into a comfy, new Queen IKEA futon with memory foam topper, which sleeps an additional 2: perfect for kids or groups traveling together. It also features a new flat screen TV with TelusPlus (Netflix, Prime, Disney, YouTube + cable TV). The kitchenette is well-stocked with full fridge/freezer, dish washer, toaster, large toaster oven, microwave, crock pot, coffee maker, kettle, small rice cooker, kitchen utensils, coffee, tea and basic pantry items. A simple granola, fruit and homemade yogurt breakfast is included for the first week of your stay! Paddling, electric boating and catch/release fishing are welcome, and there’s a beautiful new small-craft launch that makes entry easy. Please note: - This suite is small, simple, and well supplied: ideal for those here for the purpose of adventuring, remote working, and resting at the end of long days out. If you are looking for a luxury place to spend a lot of time inside, this may not be the right space for you. - There is no oven/stove in-suite for cooking bigger meals, however, the toaster oven is oversized (can cook a small chicken), and longer term guests are welcome to use our stove/oven upstairs once a week for meal prep if needed. - Parents be advised: While kids of all ages are always welcome, at this time baby equipment, toys and toddler-proofing of the suite or property is not offered.
