Porto Taigun, full property – Santo André, Bahia
Description
Welcome to Sítio Porto Taigun, a spacious, quiet property in nature and with a unique history, on the banks of the João de Tiba River in Santo André, Bahia. Our property, one of the oldest in the village, is named after the sailboat that brought the couple Jürgen and Ana Lúcia to the then small village of Santo André in the early 1980s. This special place was carefully selected to become both the couple's new home and a port for the vessel. Hence the name: Porto Taigun. The space Cozy accommodations: We offer three accommodation options to suit your needs. SERENE BUNGALOWS We have two charming bungalows. The first is perfect for couples, while the second comfortably accommodates families or groups of friends. Each bungalow has a minibar, a private veranda with a hammock, and access to the deck kitchen, which is by the river. COZY HOUSE Our house is spacious and cozy, with the capacity to accommodate up to three couples and two children or up to ten people in three cozy bedrooms, including a 50-square-meter suite. Why not both?! :) - Explore the surroundings with our kayaks, which are included in the daily rate. We recommend an invigorating dip in the river to cool off. - Or cool off in our quiet pool, surrounded by lush nature. Wildlife and local art: - In addition to our adorable pet "xodógs," you can observe and interact with a rich fauna, including birds such as parrots, parakeets, thrushes, hummingbirds and hawks, as well as some mammals, such as agoutis and tamarins (which are very curious and brazen!). - Art and orchids: The host has her art and ceramics studio on the property (Atelier Santa Braga), as well as a beautiful collection of orchids. Other things to note Our commitment to the environment: - We are self-sufficient and eco-friendly. We produce our own solar energy, use an artesian well for water (groundwater) and have an ecological septic tank system. - We separate our waste and use a compost bin to turn organic matter into fertilizer, which we use to enrich the site's soil. Come to Porto Taigun for a unique experience that combines an authentic history, nature, sustainability, hospitality and art. We'll wait for you here!
