Description
My beautiful home was built in 1913. When you see the high ceilings, ornate cornices, wooden floors, stained glass and fireplaces you will feel how special it is. It’s also very secure and safe. It’s on a busy street so you will have to be okay with some hustle and bustle :) It is within walking distance of the CBD, Hyde Park, Beatty park, Angove street (North Perth cafe strip), Rosemount Bowl and many wonderful restaurants and cafes in Mount Lawley, Leederville and Northbridge The space Bedroom 1 is a large room on the bottom floor. It had a comfy queen sized bed, and a closet for your belongings. There is a beautiful ornate fireplace, however it's not in use. Bedroom 2 takes up the entirety of the loft on the second floor. This loft room also has a queen sized bed, as well two comfy chairs, a coffee table and plenty of books. At night, the view of the city scape from the top window is beautiful. If there are fireworks, this is also a great spot to watch. The bathroom is on the ground level. It’s spacious, with a beautiful claw foot bath, and large shower. Living area: There are two separate living areas. The main sitting area is adjacent to the kitchen. This beautifully lit room has a 3 seater couch, coffee table and a smart TV (Netflix, Kayo etc available). This room has an ornate fireplace, however its not in use. There are a few board / card games and chess available, stored under the sideboard. Living area / cinema room: The second living area is set up as a cinema room, with a three seater couch, a beanbag and a projector / bose speaker. This is a comfy space at the very front end of the house. If you have connected your phone to the wifi, you can cast any streaming platform to the projector. Its very easy to do. The Kitchen is open plan, with a stove, oven dishwasher, micowave, fridge, slow cooker, pressure cooker and all the usual crockery / utensils for you to use. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine milk frother, and coffee pods for you to enjoy. The dining room is open plan, adjacent to the kitchen area. I love this space as its perfect for cooking while entertaining guests. The wooden table seats 6 guests. Laundry: As this is an old house, the laundry is outdoors, however is under the cover of the back patio roof. As you step out of the back wrought-iron doors, it is behind two wooden doors. To dry any clothes you have the option of two clothes horses, or the washing line. The washing line is a retractable line by the other side/back door. Just pull the string to connect diagonally to the box on the lattice wall, and then turn the knob to 'lock' in place. Back yard: The back patio area has outdoor seating and a coffee table, as well as a gas BBQ and pizza oven. There is a small grass area with lots of beautiful plants/greenery, and a curved wooden bench seat down by the grass. This area opens up to the rear laneway, and is where you can park your car by opening up the garage door. Front courtyard: via the front white picket gate you can enter into the courtyard. There are two chairs and a table if you'd like to sit out in the morning sunlight. Guest access Guests have the whole house to themselves for the duration of their stay. You can access the house via the front gate / courtyard, or the garage (via laneway access). When you first access the property, the keys will be found in the lockbox in the front courtyard. Other things to note Parking: There is one secure parking spot in a carport via laneway access. You will have access to the garage remote. Its a tight laneway, so definitely best to reverse in to the driveway :) The other parking spot is paved verge parking directly out the front of the house. Ensure you reverse back directly in front of the house, as the other available verge spot is for the house next door. Please don't park in front of their property :) Also be sure not to park on the footpath in any way as rangers are quick to issue parking fines in the city of Vincent. Noise / traffic. As its very central and on a busy road, traffic can be noisy at times. As the house is very long and narrow it remains quiet mostly. If you are a light sleeper preferring dead quiet, I would suggest earplugs just in case :) Temperature: My house is an old character home with high ceilings, and can be difficult to heat in the colder months of winter (June/July mainly). The loft rooms has reverse cycle aircon and both beds have electric blankets, however being warm clothes and slippers to be sure you’re comfortable. The fire places are not in use. Summer months in Perth are HOT, however the main living area/kitchen have aircon, as does the loft bedroom. The bottom bedroom has a dyson fan. When the night cools down, I always like to open the front and rear doors to let a lovely cool breeze through the house before bed. Plants: All outdoor plants have reticulation. However if you are staying longer than a week during hotter months (November-March), I kindly ask you to water all indoor plants once per week with the watering can. All other times of the year the plants will be fine for two weeks without water. Thanks so much :) Registration Details STRA6006DPRFMF6Y
