Note: This listing is for three private bedrooms in our home. It is not for the whole house. Sleeping spaces are only in the bedrooms unless approved in advance. Check out our other listings and reviews. 3 attractive rooms furnished with memory-foam mattresses, quality cotton sheets, room-darkening draperies, ceiling fans, flat-screen TVs, a private double-sink vanity and bathroom, plus a shared half-bath available downstairs. Peaceful, functional and attractive rooms can be your home-away-from-home. If traveling with infants or children, ask about a crib or cot. The three bedrooms have exclusive use of a private full bathroom with a double sink vanity and separate bath/shower and commode, as well as a shared downstairs half bath. Guests are welcome to use the front parlor, family room, gourmet kitchen and backyard patio, which is pleasant 9 months of the year. We generally greet guests in person, and are happy to answer questions by phone or text. Guests have their own keys to come and go at their convenience, but we are happy to recommend local sights, hikes, or restaurants, and when we cook a real dinner (maybe once a week...?) often invite guests to join us. This home is on a long cul-de-sac, with little traffic, near a ranch on a grassy hillside with occasional views of horses. The back yard is a restful spot for a leisurely meal or relaxing break. You'll be a short drive from historic downtown Martinez, with great antique stores, yummy eateries, a hip coffee-roaster shop, and much more. BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is the main transit artery connecting the greater Bay Area and major airports. The North Concord station is closest, about a 5 minute car trip away. Schedules permitting and with prior arrangement, we can often pick up guests coming from the airport at the North Concord BART station. Buchanan Air Field is about 7 minutes away, with a small airline connecting directly to Las Vegas and southern California on a limited schedule. Oakland International Airport is the closest major airport, about 35 minutes away, by car, without commute traffic. SFO is farther at 45 minutes plus, or perhaps 1.5 hours at commute time. AMTRAK trains go right through downtown Martinez, only 15 minutes away by car. This area is fairly bike friendly, and there are lots of hiking trails in the east bay and Northern California. We have a Keurig coffee maker and a selection of coffee, tea and cocoa. We don't make breakfast, but generally have bread, cereal, milk, eggs and fruit available. Kids are welcome if in your room, but the house is not child-proof, the bedrooms are upstairs, and the stairway has no gate, (but we have one that can be placed on your bedroom door if you wish). We have a crib ($20 setup fee), white-noise machine, blackout-lined draperies, pack-and-play, 3-wheel stroller, high chair, booster seat, and books and toys. Maximum stay per booking is 45 days. A subsequent booking of up to 45 days may be requested during the initial stay, with approval at the guest and host's discretion.
