The Clouds. A magical property.

The Clouds, surrounded by beauty. Perched atop a hill with 360 views of the ocean, Strezlecki's and Wilson's Prom, moored under an endless night sky. By day the horizon swims into eternity. Wedge tailed eagles hunt the ridge line, kangaroos, echidnas and wombats visit. Bike enthusiasts - the Great Southern Rail Trail is 20 mins away. Wilson's Prom with endless walking tracks and swimming is 1.5 hrs away. Stay by the fire, in the hammock or on the back deck relaxing with a glass of wine. The space If, from your house so far away, you were to cast an imaginary fishing rod up into the sky, the delicate gossamer thread you cast out over the stars, with its beautiful fly comprising the dreams of life wrapped in spiders webs, may catch on a fantasy. And the fantasy you catch and reel in would be The Clouds. The property is all yours to enjoy, with a fenced area and a dog-proof back deck. There are three bedrooms - one with queen bed, one with antique double bed and one single bed room. There is on en-suite off the double bed room and one large bathroom with separate toilet. There is a library and dedicated workspace on the second floor. There's an open space lounge area with dining facilities and a fire with some wood availability. We do so hope you will enjoy your time here in our heartland. The Clouds is a three-hour drive from the heart of Melbourne. The best route is via the beautiful South Gippsland Highway where you can stop off at many tiny country towns and explore the delights and secrets they hold. Should you desire a picnic, one of my favourite waterfalls - Agness Falls- is less than 20 minutes. "There she got out the luncheon-basket and packed a simple meal, in which, remenbering the stranger's origin and preferences, she took care to include a yard of long French bread, a sausage out of which the garlic sang, some cheese which lay down and cried and a long necked straw covered flask wherein lay bottled sunshine shed and garnered on far southern slopes." Wind in the Willows. There are wonderful rail trails to bike ride, the world renowned Strezlecki three day walking trail is a few kilometers away. Or simply stay by the fireside, in the hammock or on the back deck reading with a glass of wine. You will be visited by my pair of nesting eagles who hunt the ridgeline and you may encounter kangaroos and echidnas in the garden very early in the morning. Guest access You have full access to all parts of the home. All cupboards and drawers are for your use. It is a cooks kitchen so please avail yourself of all amenities. There will be birdseed left in a box on the back verandah for you to feed the birds and enjoy their company. Dogs are most welcome but be mindful as cows do not like to be chased and can kick. Also Kangaroos early in the morning do not enjoy being chased and can become cross with dogs who do. This is for your dog safety. This is a house run on harvested water so please be mindful of water usage. Please keep showers to a minimum. We recycle and pride ourselves on using only Australian made products where possible. Other things to note As it is so remote there are no curtains and it gets light early in summer. You should not be disturbed by any strangers. The Clouds is half an hour’s drive from any local country town. It is wise to bring your basic provisions from Melbourne and add to them locally. Please feel free to visit the Chickens in their Palace who may lay eggs for your breakfast and they would be delighted to have you eat their produce.
