It overlooks the river and the rock cliffs of the southern edge of Saratoga County’s town of Clifton Park; part of the Capital District-Albany Area. Ideal for those who wish for a getaway from the usual busy, “city lifestyle”. The space “Niskayuna”, loosely translated as “vast corn flats” in the Mohawk Language; referring to a bygone era in the history of Upstate New York. NISK-TALGIA is strategically located at the center of Upstate Adventures. It sits at the county where Thomas Edison once set his foot to establish and begin the global dominance of General Electric (GE). NISK-TALGIA is our home and it is accessible from New York City (South), Boston (East) and Chicago-Midwest (West) via Amtrak ride to the historic Schenectady Station in downtown Schenectady which is a 10-minute car ride to the property, or a 30-minute ride from Albany- Rensselaer Station; it is also accessible using any of the major thru-ways via I-87, I-88 and I-90. Additionally, Albany Airport is just 17 minutes away! The property is accessible to educational institutions, including UAlbany 25 mins., Albany Medical College 35 mins., Union College 15 mins., Sage University 35 mins., Siena College 35 mins., among others. NiskTalgia is 7 minutes from Sunnyview Hospital & Ellis Hospital, 30 minutes from St. Peter’s Hospital and 35 minutes away from Albany Medical Center. Also, NiskTalgia is 7 minutes away from Mohawk Harbor, River's Casino & Restaurant, and 12 minutes away from Proctors Theater at downtown Schenectady. Also, the Mohawk-Hudson Bike Trail is walking distance from NiskTalgia; it runs through the forest reserve in front of the house. The historic New York State Capitol, State Offices, The Egg, and the NYS Museum are all within minutes of drive from the property. It is situated adjacent the southern boundary of Saratoga County: Saratoga- the Summer Performance Capital of New York [SPAC] and where the world-famous Saratoga Race Track is located. It is a gateway to The Adirondacks and the Greater North Country where the outdoor awaits through hiking, white-water river rafting, fishing and mountain-climbing; apple, strawberry, peach, blueberry and raspberry-picking (seasonal), plus some historic and fun places at Lake George and beyond. Nevertheless, the colder months bring a different kind of adventure as well. The region around the Capital District hosts a wide variety of sports in the winter time that includes ice-fishing, ice skating, skiing, snow-boarding and other winter-inspired activities: The Empire State Plaza opens its outdoor skating rink to skaters of all ages (estimated) from December to March. Moreover, Maple Ski Ridge, a family-friendly skiing place is just 20 minutes away from the property. Likewise, the Albany Pine Bush Preserve features a 20-mile multi-use trails, annually hosting cross-country skiers, and snow-shoe hikers. There are annual ice-fishing competitions in different lakes around the area too! Guest access NISK-TALGIA BY THE RIVER is a duplex; the “larger part*” is the rental property place that can accommodate between 4-6 individuals, with: • Two [2] Bedrooms (master’s bedroom with king size bed, and the guest room with queen size bed) plus 2 optional single roll away cots available upon request. • Family and Entertainment Room at the 2nd floor with 75’ TV with Netflix, Hulu and HBO Max Guest Access. • Two [2] Full Bathrooms • Receiving Area at the ground floor • Dining Area (6-seater dining table) • Full Kitchen (with Oven Cooktop, Refrigerator, Microwave, Coffee Maker (2), Toaster and Dishwasher). • Upper Deck (with open sky view), and • Lower Deck/ Veranda (with 6-seater outdoor dining table and an outdoor wicker sofa set (Seasonal). • Kitchen side porch with deck seating and outdoor grill. Other things to note NISK-TALGIA’s smaller part of the duplex is occupied by the property managers with a separate entrance, defined under Niskayuna's Short Term Rental Law as "hosted" property. Nonetheless, the renters have exclusive access and exclusive use of the rental property’s “larger part” in the entire duration of stay or booking. Parking area is common between the renters and the property managers. Furnishing, accessories, decorations and designs inside the house is for the pleasure and convenience of the short-term renter. Loss or damage (other than the normal wear and tear) shall be billed separately.
