Welcome to Wilson Family Farm! Relax with the whole family at this peaceful farmhouse. Located an hour south of Washington, D.C., Wilson Farmhouse is surrounded by trees, cropland and water; perfect for family gatherings, retreats or remote work. One mile from Cobb Island Five miles from Swan Point Golf and Country Club The space Wilson Farmhouse is a newly-renovated, historic farmhouse. Built in 1906, it has the character of a vintage home and all the modern amenities you’ll need for a relaxing, peaceful stay. There are six bedrooms; three upstairs with one queen bed and two full beds, two on the main floor with queen beds and one on the main floor with twin beds. There is a full bath with a shower upstairs and a full bath with a shower and tub on the main floor. There is a large front porch with ample seating (the smaller side porch is scheduled for renovation). Our pier behind the Farmhouse leads to Neale Sound, a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. The bottom is soft and marshy, so, it is not good for swimming. The pier has a ladder. We have used it to access a rowboat but kayaks should put out at Southern Park up the road, Hatton Creek (5 minute drive)or Mattawoman Creek (30-minute drive). *PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING.* Important things to know: The Farmhouse is part of our family’s historic Wilson Family Farm. We trust that you will enjoy it and take care of it. The Farmhouse is an old home with a septic system. Food waste and cooled cooking grease should go in the trash and not in the sink drain. Please don’t flush anything but toilet paper ( and other stuff that belongs in a toilet). If you are having a challenging bathroom day (sorry!) please flush frequently throughout the process to avoid clogs. The Farmhouse is a non-smoking property. Please do not smoke in the house or on the porches. Because of the risk of brushfires, smoking is only allowed in the exterior firepit area or at the end of the pier. Please do not walk through the crop fields or pick any plantings. If you are traveling with children, please be extra careful with them on the pier. If you use the grill, please deposit cooled, used charcoal and ash in the ash bucket provided. Please be aware that there is a high likelihood of brush fires at the Farm. Be careful when using the grill. Please do not use the grill or the fire pit in windy conditions. There are bbq tools on top of the refrigerator. The fireplace is decorative only. Please do not open any windows. Even with the windows closed, we can not ensure that bugs won’t get in. We live on a rural farm. Stinkbugs and Ladybug thrive in this area, especially in the spring. We do everything we can to keep them out. No parties or extra overnight guests are allowed without the permission of the host. Dogs are allowed. No more than two dogs per booking. No cats or other animals, please. If you are bringing your dog(s), I do require a non-refundable pet fee of $80 to cover extra cleaning. Please be aware that additional fees will apply if any there are any pet stains or scratches or other damages that need to be addressed. We have provided extra garbage bags under the lower kitchen cabinets. Upon checkout, please ensure that all trash (including takeout containers) is in a garbage bag that is securely tied shut before taking it to the outdoor trash bin (bin is labeled Amber Trash). Loose trash is not allowed in the outside bin. Please place empty plastic containers, glass bottles and aluminum cans in the outdoor recycling bin (bin is labeled Charles County). Please do not bag recyclable items (they do not recycle plastic bags). Please make sure the outdoor bins are completely closed to keep wildlife out. Please do not move the outdoor bins. Upon checkout, please do not leave any food in the refrigerator or open packages in the cabinets. Please put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start the cycle before checkout. Please leave the bed linens on the beds. The cleaning crew will strip the beds. Please do not wash dirty towels, washcloths or kitchen linens. Leave them in the bin in the laundry room. Please turn the interior lights out at checkout. Please let us know promptly if there is a problem or if you have any concerns. Now for the fun part! The Farm is wonderful and beautiful and peaceful.
