Sandy Coves Cottage is a bright, beautiful, open concept 4 season waterfront cottage. The fully equipped cottage sleeps 6 adults comfortably and is the ideal summer or winter getaway for 3 couples or an entire family. The cottage is located on the very sought after Lac Gauvreau and is literally only minutes from Wakefield village and the Gatineau Park. We are also only 30 minutes from the ByWard Market downtown Ottawa, Canada. The space Sandy Coves cottage is accessible year round, making it an ideal winter retreat for nature enthusiast looking to reconnect and immerse themselves in the outdoors enjoying snowshoeing, winter hiking, skating, cross country or downhill skiing within minutes from the cottage. The Gatineau park area offers spectacular seasonally appropriate, ski, cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, bungee jumping and hiking adventures. Centre Vorlage is a popular family ski and mountain bike resort right in the heart of Wakefield village. Vorlage offers a variety of learn to ski programs for both adult and children via their ski school. Edelweiss Ski and Golf club is also very close by. Many guests enjoy our local alternative to skating on the Ottawa canal on The Gatineau Park Forest Skate Way. Nothing can be more Canadian than skating through a Canadian forest on a groomed 3 km ice rink sipping hot chocolate while snacking on homemade maple syrup treats. Sandy Coves cottage literally sits right on the edge of Lac Gauvreau. I have never seen another cottage so close to the water's edge. Sandy Coves cottage also has a "Soft Tub Hot Tub'' located right at the water's edge. Enjoy sipping wine while soaking in the hot tub under the stars. The hot tub is on and available year round. Guest access Guests enjoy use of the entire cottage space and its private property and beach. Our cottage is fully equipped and includes everything you need from pillows, to blankets and towels. The kitchen is fully equipped as well and includes all pots and pans and a nice selection of cooking spices. Sandy Coves cottage has both a canoe and two sit on top kayaks for spring, summer and fall visitors to enjoy while out exploring the shores of Lac Gauvreau. Other things to note We are able to accept instant bookings during the fall, spring, summer and winter rental season. Our check in times are usually flexible, but the AirBnB website requires hosts to post a very specific check in and check out time to set guest expectations properly. Guests seeking to check in earlier than the time posted or seeking a later check out time than what is posted, should contact me directly, so that I can confirm the exact check in time available specific to the date you are seeking to book. We can usually accommodate our client requests but it will depend on the next incoming rental guests and the time it takes our cleaner to properly prepare the cottage for our next guests.
