Perfect for professionals needing a short term spot. This newly built (2024) guest house is a spacious 600sq feet+ 200sq foot loft. Centrally located in the Normal Heights, walking distance to cool bars, restaurants, coffee shops, but far enough away to be nice and quiet. Entrances to the 15 & 805 freeways are minutes away, so you can get anywhere fast. Nearby cool 'hoods like North Park and Hillcrest. Small car parking , plus ample street parking, W/D in unit. Fully equipped kitchen. The space This is a home, not a hotel. It shares a lot with our home, but the unit and the garage that it is built on are a separate building from the main home. The unit has a private entrance and private balcony facing west for excellent sunset viewing, as well as a private outdoor seating area. The unit was designed to maximize privacy for us in the main house as well as whoever is staying in the unit. Again, a home, not a hotel. It is not a cookie cutter unit that was built to operate as a mini hotel. This space was built for friends and family to visit, and and is rented out when family is not staying. It was designed and furnished to be a place where family and friends will actually want to stay and relax. Our place is nicely appointed with nice furniture, kitchenware and more. As we have friends and family visit frequently, we have filled it with the stuff we would want to use ourselves. We expect guests to treat our space with the same care and respect as they would their own home. Guest access This unit is on the same lot as our main home, but was built to maximize our privacy and yours. You'll have the entire 600Square foot unit, built above our garage ( separate building), plus a private patio. There is a private entry with parking for a small car. Our VW golf fits easily, Mazda CX3, 2 door Jeep Wrangler, or similar will fit easily. Longer cars will fit if you are creative and park at an angle. Vans, full size SUVs, and large cars will not fit in the parking spot. Check out the photos to see our VW Golf parked in the space. The gate must be able to close when your car is parked, if the gate cannot close, you must park your car on the nearby street. There is ample street parking. Other things to note Hi speed internet included. Early check ins and late checkouts can almost always be accommodated, but we do check in our guests in person when they arrive. We are working professionals who can be flexible on your check in time, and can accommodate most requests. But the check in time may require some flexibility on your part. If you are going to arrive after 10PM, please reach out to ensure we can accommodate this. Due to the stairs, the loft, and other factors, this unit is not particularly child friendly. The loft is accessed via a loft ladder. Due to the steepness and narrow access, larger guests and people with limited mobility may have difficulty accessing the loft. Additionally, nobody under age 16 is allowed in the loft. Potential guests have asked before: No smoking means no smoking anywhere on the property. This includes all outdoor areas. If you need to smoke, you should stay somewhere else.
