This centrally-located place is situated in the very heart of the beautiful historical city of Wells. A Grade 2 listed 18th century second floor apartment, it provides an ideal base to explore the beautiful Cathedral city and ancient areas. Looking out onto the High Street opposite the ancient city jail and close to the vibrant twice-weekly market, this bright, sunny and quiet apartment is modernised but retains all the character and charm of wonderful historical England. The space Accommodation is accessed through a private courtyard with a secluded balcony and you will arrive on the upper floor of a very unique building, full of character and charm. Enter through the kitchen that looks out over the High Street, complete with breakfast bar and newly fitted appliances including induction hob, cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer/dryer. All other kitchen accessories to meet your culinary needs. Essential teapot and cafetière for that welcome drink on arrival! The lounge/dining area looks out over the High Street. The oak dining table is situated in the sunny window area and will comfortably seat four people. Perfectly situated in the hub of the city where you can view local events such as Wells Carnival in October, Christmas parades and Remembrance parades etc. A five-minute walk from the Historical Wells Cathedral, where many concerts and events are held throughout the year. The lounge has a three piece suite and the sofa is large enough to be used as an additional single bed if required. Large flat screen TV. CD player and Wi-Fi. Please note this flat is not suitable for children under the age of 12. The two bedrooms both have double beds with ensuite bathrooms. Bedroom one: –king-size bed with TV, ensuite shower room. Bedroom two: – double brass bed with TV, ensuite bath/shower All bedding and towels are provided. (Please note beds cannot be separated into single beds) The rooms are furnished with bedside lights, bedside cabinets, Wardrobes/chest of drawers. There is a toilet and shower room in the hallway that opens into a lobby area with a desk and seating if you require a quiet space to work away from home. Wi-Fi and internet connection. If you are travelling by train , bus or car it is ideally situated for a couple wanting that romantic city break or time to share a weekend away with friends or family. Please note: There is no parking outside the property but it does have a loading bay opposite to off load luggage. Parking is available close by in the various carparks on the perimeter of the city. Tucker Street car park offers long term stay. South Street car park charges £5 a day. Please check the car park notice board for times and fees in case of price changes. Most car parks offer payment by phone if you don't want to rise early to feed the meter. Guest access Please note: This is not an accessible building and not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. Please be aware you will have to carry all luggage up an outside staircase to access the property. Both doors have accessible keypads. You will be given codes to access both doors on arrival. Other things to note Neighbourhood description: Wells City is known for its good restaurants, pubs and lively musical events. The apartment is situated in the very centre with great access to all the events listed below. The city is world renown for its Magnificent cathedral and historical architecture. It has a vibrant market twice a week on a Wednesday and a Saturday. Many major events are held throughout the year, including food fairs, Christmas concerts, mediaeval pageants, comedy festivals, literature festivals. Book early for Wells Carnival and Glastonbury festival!! It has beautiful surrounding countryside and other famous sites including Glastonbury tour, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole to name but a few. There are many more events that you can find listed in on the internet. Getting around. Wells City is in the heart of Somerset And easily accessible for most areas in the south west of England. It has good bus links to train stations and airport travel. Regular bus service into Bristol City, Glastonbury, Street, City of Bath, Weston-super-Mare, Yeovil and other local towns. The apartment is just a five minute walk from the bus station.
