At the canal turn right and it goes towards AstraZeneca manufacturing and then onto the village of Bollington. Alternatively, you can hop in the car over to Tegg’s Nose or Macclesfield Forest for walks in the local area or drive into the Peak District. Rainow itself has an abundance of footpaths which can be reached from the front door. Eating in Macclesfield is a diverse and enjoyable experience, as you can find a variety of cuisines and restaurants to suit your taste and budget. There is a whole range of eateries from the Picturedrome food hall (Chestergate), which features a range of stalls offering pizza, burgers, tacos, sushi, ice cream through to Lebanese, Indian, Nepalese, Scandic and even anything English! You can walk into town from Osborne Villa and it will take you 15 minutes. There are eateries closer to the house including the Chilli Banana (Thai), and the award winning Achaari (Indian). The best Chinese take away/delivery (in our opinion!), is Shanghai Memories in the town centre. Down the hill on the right, • Co-op (0.6 miles away), end of the Rainow Road, • Tesco (0.7 miles away), a supermarket with a petrol station and a pharmacy, • M&S Food store and Aldi (0.8 miles), you can walk here through Tesco but driving you have to go on the silk road. Local Pubs • Three Crowns, a traditional local family pub in Hurdsfield, just up the hill on the left [2 minutes], • The Lord Clyde, Kerridge; a cosy pub with home cooked food and a beer garden, about 1.2 miles away. You can walk here along the canal , • The Robin Hood in Rainow Village, offers good food (1.3 miles).
