Located just steps from the Old Lincoln Courthouse and museum, the VanderWaal is a modern, open concept second-story loft space crafted in a building that traces its origins as far back as the 1880's. The space The Social Space: The social space features a three panel bay window overlooking the square and offers a perfect vantage point to view parades that pass by on State Street, and events happening in the square. The center piece of the space is a large gas fireplace, that all but shouts "come cuddle in cozy comfort." A large screen HD TV, mounted on the wall above the mantle provides the perfect space to watch the big game or favorite movie while you relax on the comfortable leather sofa or soft fabric lounge chairs. Large photographs depicting scenes from Beardstown's past gives guests for a brief, fleeting moment, a sense of having traveled back to another date and time. The Kitchen & Dining Space: The kitchen space offers plenty of room for a family to gather, with a dining table that will accommodate place settings for six, or a space for friends to gather around the quartz-topped island that offers bar stool seating for six. For business travelers, the kitchen-dining area provides a great work space with plenty of room for your laptop, or to spread out that important paperwork. A large kitchen skylight provides ample ambient lighting, and allows a feel of the outside into the room while the heat and humidity, or the cold and snow stay outside. The Bath: End your day with a luxurious soak in an old school, claw-footed bathtub, or start your day with an exhilarated shower housed in a walk-in, glass enclosure that features the convenience of a "hands-free" or "hand-held" shower head. The Sleeping Spaces: The VanderWaal offers two adjoining bedrooms. Our Bedroom #1 houses a queen-sized bed, perfect for a restful night's sleep. A cozy chair in the corner gives you a chance to stargaze through the large skylight in this space. The bathroom is conveniently located directly off of this room. As you walk through Bedroom #1 you will enter the second bedroom. Bedroom #2 is designed with a spacious king-sized bed, leaving you room to spread out and unwind. This room features a wall- mounted TV, built-in hanging storage for clothes, and the back entryway to the unit.
