The space "Hare" our family brand new eco-lodge, nestled within our private "Hayne Barn Estate", provides a haven of rustic charm, offering the ideal setting for a rejuvenating escape. Hare lodge is ideal for one couple with one or 2 children or 2 couples wishing to relax away from hectic life. From the moment you arrive, you will be immersed in the serenity of nature, surrounded by the beauty of our carefully maintained grounds. Step inside this rustic lodge where you will be welcomed by a comfy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner decorated in calming tones that are enhanced by the outdoor surroundings. Hare is set amongst the trees. Comfy sofas, perfect spot to enjoy watching the Smart TV or an evening of board games, whilst the well-equipped kitchen area offers everything you may need for whipping up a delicious meal that can be enjoyed at the dining table. The lodge is fully heated. Enjoy some outdoor relaxation. The private spacious decking, adorned with a private signature wood-fired hot tub and a built in barbecue creates a perfect atmosphere to relax and admire the stars on a clear night. Hare lodge has an outdoor drying room for wet coats and boots, and a covered seating area which is perfect for listening to the sounds of nature, whatever the weather may be. The decking extends outwards to provide a sun trap on warmer days where you will find an outdoor table and seating. The BBQ can be dual purpose either as a charcoal barbecue or a fire pit for those chilly evenings. Make yourself at home for any duration of stay throughout the year in this fully heated lodge. Google Hayne Barn Estate for full description - 20 minutes walk to Saltwood village, where buses go to Hythe and Folkestone. 8 minutes walk across the woods to Sandling station which has regular links to London, Dover and Folkestone but if it rains you need to follow the road and that takes 35 minutes. A car is recommended but for those who enjoy walking or cycling it it not a problem. Taxis are available. The pretty town of Hythe is just 2 miles away and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a beach for enjoying a spot of swimming or water sports. For those wanting to explore further afield, Port Lympne Safari (just 5 miles away) and makes for a great day. Enjoy the 25% discount we offer. Slightly further is Dover Castle (13 miles) and the historical city of Canterbury (18 miles) with its Cathedral and Marlowe Theatre. Take a stroll along the Royal Military Canal which is a great way to see the local area. Tennis enthusiasts can enjoy our own on site indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Courts must be booked and paid for and please bring your own equipment. Keen walkers can explore the Saxon Shore footpath (150m away) . Cyclists can explore the cycling trails or just rent an e-bike to discover the area. Guest access "Hare" is on the private and splendid grounds of Hayne Barn Estate; it is cosy, comfortable, fully equipped with high specifications and fully heated for winter retreats. We have 3 other delightful ecolodges nearby, all very private, completely separated by trees and hazelnut woven fences, making it very attractive for few couples to spend time together and remaining totally independent. We supply a complimentary whole basket of sustainable briquettes designed for hot-tub lighting, 1 bag of charcoal, firelighters and kindling, enough to light the hot tub for the first night. You can purchase an extra basket (£13 or £3.00 per bag of charcoal) once you have arrived - but within normal hours of before 11 am every morning by texting Teresa (her number is on the hot tub instructions sheet) A complete Welcome Booklet is available on the table with all sorts of useful information, instructions for the hot tub and telephone numbers for guests to contact us on site. FAQ'S below : PLEASE READ Accommodation Details WHAT IS PROVIDED? All lodges are self-catering. We provide handwash, washing-up liquid, and basics for arrival: a few teabags, coffee pods, milk doses, and sugar. Anything else is a bonus, so please bring your own provisions. Please note we do not supply hotel-style toiletries. IS BED LINEN SUPPLIED? Yes, we include bed linen and towels for the shower. However, you will need to bring your own towels for the hot tub. ARE THE LODGES SOUNDPROOF? Yes, all lodges are completely soundproof. IS THERE A HOT TUB IN THE STUDIO? No, the studio does not have a hot tub. WILL I HAVE MY OWN HOT TUB WITH MY LODGE? Yes, each lodge comes with a private hot tub. Unfortunately we are unable to heat the hot tub prior to arrival. Arrival and Check-in HOW DO I CHECK IN? The lodges and studio are self-check-in. You will receive a code for the key box via email closer to your booking date. WHERE DO I GO ON ARRIVAL? Full instructions will be emailed to you closer to your booking date. No, we do not allow pets for health and safety reasons. DO YOU ALLOW SMOKING? No, all lodges and the studio are non-smoking. HOW DO I LIGHT THE FIRE FOR THE HOT TUB? Please note we do not light the hot tub for our guests. It takes 2.5 to 3 hours to light the hot-tub, so start early. • Is wood supplied for the hot tub? We provide a full box of quality long lasting briquettes sepcially designed for hot-tubs, firelighters, kindling and ligoter to heat the hot tub once. Additional briquettes and charcoal can be purchased on-site by texting Teresa before 11.00 am. Her number is on the hot-tub instructions sheet. • One bag of charcoal is supplied for the barbecue only. IS WOOD SUPPLIED FOR THE HOT TUB? One bag of charcoal is supplied for the barbecue only. CAN I PLAY MUSIC AT THE LODGES? We have a strict no-noise policy after 8:00 PM to respect other guests. TV Each lodge has a TV in the lounge. The TV has freeview channels. You can log into your own Netflix account on the TV. Woodpecker and Pheasent have a TV in the bedroom as well. Nearby Services WHERE IS THE NEAREST SUPERMARKET? Yes, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s deliver. Please provide the name of your lodge, specific directions, and your phone number. WHERE IS THE NEAREST TRAIN STATION? Sandling Station is a 10-minute walk through the woods (ask for walking instructions) or a short taxi ride. We do not recommend walking through the woods after dark. Family and Capacity CAN ADDITIONAL BEDS BE ADDED? No. CAN WE BRING OR HIRE A COT BED FOR AN INFANT? Yes, you can bring your own in lodges Pheasant, Woodpecker and the Studio. IS THE FAMILY LODGE "HARE" SUITABLE FOR TWO PEOPLE? Yes, the “Hare” lodge can be hired as a two-person lodge. At booking select 2 adults and the price will adjust accordingly. Then let us know if you want to have the twin or double room. Special Occasions CAN YOU PROVIDE DECORATIONS FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS? We can provide basic balloons, banners and cards on arrival. Prosecco can also be ordered via our website. Please note, we cannot accommodate additional instructions, including helium balloons. Health and Safety ARE THERE INSECTS? Yes, being in the countryside means there is plenty of wildlife and insects. Many families enjoy bug hunting and wildlife watching. We recommend bringing insect repellent in the summer. CAN INDUCTION HOBS INTERFERE WITH PACEMAKERS? Guests with pacemakers should consult their doctor to ensure compatibility with induction hobs. Additional Information WHAT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM DURING MY STAY? Contact details for assistance are provided in the black folder inside your lodge. Thankfully, this is rare. We have an on-site housekeeping team and maintenance support available to resolve issues during normal working hours. A mobile contact number is provided in your lodge. Do not email us during your stay, text us on the number provided in the folder. We kindly request that any issues are reported to us during your stay not after departure so we can assess the situation together and resolve it. Issues reported after departure will not be considered. IS A CAR NECESSARY? A car is recommended, but taxis are available - We use Folkestone Taxis. WHAT IS THE BREAKAGES DEPOSIT? If a £30 deposit is taken at booking and refunded a few working days after your stay, provided there are no issues.
